In an age dominated by fast-paced but also dispersive and often incorrect communications, we are often exposed to misleading or irrelevant information. Obtaining reliable news and advice is particularly important today as we live through the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this AOP would like to share with you CORONAVIRUS – THE SCIENCE EXPLAINED, a set of authoritative and up-to-date explanations of the scientific evidence behind the COVID-19 pandemic developed by the UK’s Research and Innovation government department, which directs research and innovation funding including towards Physics and Astronomy.

The articles in CORONAVIRUS – THE SCIENCE EXPLAINED have been curated by a team of research scientists working in coronavirus, virus and relevant related fields at the Universities of Oxford, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Imperial College London, King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Topics include evidence and facts about the virus, information on how people are infected and treatment options. Content is tailored for the general public but includes also links to published and pre-published scientific papers.
