There are around 3000 human-made satellites in working order around the Earth, however if the debris of old and damaged satellites are taken into account the number increases dramatically. Ever since the Soviet Union launched the very first artificial satellite into orbit in 1957, various countries around the world have sought to compete and satellites today are used for communication, navigation and exploration. Satellites are often visible passing overhead as the sunlight reflects back towards the Earth. One of them is impossible to miss, the largest satellite currently in orbit, the International Space Station, at a huge 100m across. However, these satellites are relatively unexciting in comparison to the mystery surrounding one very old dark satellite…
Legend has it that in orbit around the Earth is a mysterious, dark object which dates back perhaps 13 000 years. Its origin and purpose are inscrutable, dubbed the “Black Knight” this elusive satellite has allegedly been beaming signals towards the Earth and inspected by NASA astronauts yet only a few on Earth officially know of its existence. The origin of the ominous name is part of the enigma; it is impossible to discover who first called it this or indeed why. Humans have only in the last 60 years had the technology to launch a man-made object into space so what is the logical explanation of tales of an alien intruder on our doorstep?
The Tesla Transmissions
The first apparent part of this story begins with signals heard by Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) a brilliant Serbian inventor (and described by many thanks to his often eccentric behaviour and opinions as a genuine mad scientist) who spent most of his career in the USA. He was an electrical engineer and produced works which explored the idea of radio and wireless transmissions. In 1899, he reportedly intercepted a signal unlike any of the natural sources from Earth such as electrical storms that he had already investigated in his experiments. Instead he announced that regular signals must be coming from an intelligent outside source, potentially inhabitants of Mars. Tesla never claimed to have heard signals from a satellite orbiting Earth. Today there are those who say he was listening to a transmission from an orbiting satellite of unknown origin later called by some the Black Knight.
It is slightly more likely, though still very far from probable, that what was Tesla detected was not an orbiting satellite but instead signals emitted from natural objects. Today we know of some natural extraterrestrial repeating sources such as pulsars. These are fast-spinning neutron stars which emit a rhythmic signal. They were first discovered in 1967 by Northern Irish astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell-Burnell (1943-). Until certain of their origin, they were jokingly nicknamed the Little Green Men signals. Tesla was not hearing the signals from pulsars though and was completely unaware of the nature of what he had really detected (if indeed he picked up anything at all). Telsa apparently never tried to repeat his observations, claiming that other matters took priority, an astonishingly casual response to so significant a claim.
The Black Knight Decoded?
In the 1920s anomalous signals were again detected by amateur radio operators. These were originally of Earthly origin, but their timing was bizarre! A signal would be received then a second repeated signal received a few seconds later. These Long Delayed Echoes (LDEs) were difficult to explain in terms or radio waves bouncing off atmospheric layers. In 1973, Scotsman Duncan Lunan (1945-) went back to these signals to see if could make sense of them. Miraculously by plotting the delay times against the order in which the echoes were received he could create what appeared to be star charts and diagrams. By deciphering them Lunan decided that the signals were actually messages transmitted by a probe originally from the star Epsilon Böotes (Izar) which had been lurking near the Moon for the past 13 000 years. Lunan is not a professional astronomer but instead a science communicator and science fiction author with a flair for outré ideas but nevertheless the name Black Knight is never mentioned by him; nor has he personally linked his Epsilon Böotes hypothesis with the Black Knight, others seem to be responsible for this. (UPDATE: Mr Lunan has stated his position on the Black Knight story in the Comments section below.)
Another story dating back to the early 1950s claimed to refer to an apparition of the Black Knight reports the detection of a signal of by an object in orbit. This was a time of deep suspicions held by the two superpowers on either side of the Pacific. Neither the Americans nor the Soviets had the ability to place an object into any kind of an orbit at that time. Yet the discovery of an Earth-orbiting satellite was reported in a couple of newspapers from the time, and the respected astronomer Clyde Tombaugh (discoverer of Pluto) is said to have been involved. However, the articles actually a couple of synopses of a book by the UFOlogical author Donald Keyhoe (1897-1988). I’m sure these promotional newspaper articles had been great for sales of the book!
A few years later, the Black Knight seemed have made another appearance when American newspapers reported in 1960 that there was an unusual object in polar orbit, by then both superpowers had satellites in equatorial orbit but polar orbit meant that the satellite could see every part of the Earth, yet neither country admitted owning it. This may seem strange but remember that this was a time of deep-rooted suspicion and espionage not just with each other but now seemingly with extra-terrestrials too. Declassified information now released from that time suggested that object was connected to a Corona spy satellite under disguise. At the time the US Discoverer research satellite programme was actually a cover for the Corona project intended to photograph sites in the USSR. The world was bracing itself for nuclear destruction, coming close to a nuclear war in the Cuban Missile Crisis just two years later, had this information been released at the time perhaps the Cold War would have indeed heated up. The mystery object reported was almost certainly a unexpectedly large piece of debris from Discoverer 8 released when it jettisoned its film recovery capsule (known as a “bucket”). Discoverer 8’s bucket was lost as the satellite’s eccentric orbit made it impossible to recover, the satellite itself burned up on reentry in March 1960, presumably the debris fell into the atmosphere too around this time.
For any story or conspiracy to have credibility it always helps to get someone high profile on board. In the case of the Black Knight, Project Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper (1927-2004) is a prime example. Cooper announced seeing many UFOs throughout his career. So when it was claimed that he saw green lights belonging to the Black Knight on his pioneering Mercury mission into Earth orbit with ground control radar also allegedly picking up something inexplicable, it is often believed to be true. However Cooper produced transcripts saying that on the Mercury flight he never saw anything. When you have admitted seeing UFOs once perhaps other details of when and where often become less significant.
The STS-88 Encounter
The most recent and most cited “evidence” for a mystery satellite from beyond dates from 1998. The crew of Space Shuttle Orbiter Endeavour photographed an unusual object in low Earth orbit (but not a polar orbit). These images are often labelled as the most definite proof of this satellite. However, on more careful analysis this strange structure seems more like a piece of space debris. In actual fact this black object is probably a thermal blanket (to be precise, a Trunnion Pin Thermal Cover) that had become dislodged during an EVA. Mission STS-88 was the first American mission to begin construction of the International Space Station. The Russians had already placed the Zarya module in orbit so this mission was to connect Zarya to the American Unity module. The crew achieved all objectives of their mission including installing hand-rails and testing a safety device to prevent astronauts drifting into space should they become detached. However, there were a few hitches along the way. Initial alignment of the modules did not quite work so as the Shuttle’s robotic arm loosened its grip to try again, several items floated away including the thermal blanket covering, which is the mysterious-looking image captured in the photo. According to the respected space historian James Oberg in his superb history of the incident STS-88 and the Black Knight, the lost blanket burned up when it fell out of orbit about a week after it was lost.
None of this information supports claims of the Black Knight, the dark satellite, however, there really was a Black Knight rocket. It was a British rocket used to test the design of a re-entry vehicle for the Blue Streak missile between 1958 and 1965. This one is not quite as mysterious.
So although claims of an ancient 13 000 year old satellite originally from a star in the constellation of Böotes, has reportedly been spotted and photographed by NASA astronauts as it travels in polar orbit; in reality this is not the case. Black Knight is a jumble of completely unrelated stories; reports of unusual science observations, authors promoting fringe ideas, classified spy satellites and people over-interpreting photos. These ingredients have been chopped up, stirred together and stewed on the internet to one rambling and inconsistent dollop of myth. The Universe is big place, and astronomers are trying to find signs of other life, some have even searched for alien probes near Earth; however the Black Knight satellite is not the answer and it never has been.

The photo at the top, with the curved portion that is pointed, is the front. If you rotate that photo 90 degrees to the left, it would travel from right to left. I’ve seen it. It is not a satellite, it is not debris, I do not know what it is, but I do not what it is not. I watched it travel in our atmosphere rather slowly at a steady pace for about 5 minutes. I was able to get a very good look at it and made it a point to remember details about it. I was driving and at a red light. I was first at the light and facing north. I was just looking around as I was waiting. Directly in front of me to the north and only slightly elevated from my angle above the telephone and power lines was a black mass that was unidentifiable, with a few birds around it. I assumed the mass was just a flock of birds, it was not clear and had a heat distortion effect to it. I looked away and back a few seconds later and was just trying to figure out what was up with this mass of birds, it just didn’t look right. Then I realized that the birds that were around it, weren’t birds at all. There were small greenish greyish spheres off to the side of the unidentifiable mass. Obviously I was astonished and now was focused on the mass, which, like I said, was somewhat distorted, aside from the fact that I couldn’t relate the shape to anything at all. So I’m staring at it and didn’t realize the light had turned green, so I sped quickly through the intersection and jumped the curb on my right onto the grass off the side of the road. I couldn’t just drive away, I was enamored. This black thing was slowly coming toward me and slightly to the west. As I watched it, it was going passed me to the south west and I could see a profile of this thing. I was shaking, my foot was still on my gas pedal and I was revving the engine of my truck. After about 2 minutes, I finally had the thought to get my phone out and record. By this time it was getting further away and I was using a Galaxy s3. Definitely not a superior recording device and not meant to record and lock onto an object miles away in the sky on an overcast day. I recorded it nonetheless. I was also able to record the spheres that were much smaller than the main object. They travelled with the main object but also moved independently of it. I remember thinking, how will I describe this to anyone, so I paid close attention to as much detail as I could. I’ll not describe it because there is a picture to reference at the top of this page, and it takes a while to do so. Anyways, I watched it slowly travel out of sight, along with it’s accompanying spheres. I then went to meet my family for dinner as was my plan. On my way home through that same area, about 1.5 hours later, there was a military chopper coming from the north east heading in the exact direction I last saw the object, south west. I went home, looked at my video and discovered that there were two more spheres that I didn’t see in person. After messing with the video for an hour or more, I sat down to relax with my wife for the evening, googled the simplest search criteria,……U.F.O. photo. Literally the 7th photo that came up was one called The Black Knight. That was it, what was in the photo, that was what I saw. Every detail was identical, the curved front like a toucan beak, the jagged rear portion, and the bulb like shape at the top, center. Now, I don’t know about it being related to Tesla’s story, or the story of the Black Knight. But I know what I saw and I saw it clearly and for several minutes. I’m no liar, I’d love to take a polygraph test regarding this. I’d do anything to prove it’s true. This, right here, right now, is the first public telling of this story. It is no blanket, it is not just debris, it is something more and either it’s got friends or some extra tools that make it even more fantastic. This was on March 30th approximately 4:40pm in Birch Run Michigan in 2014. There is no consequence as to whether you believe me or not. But I’m telling you, flat out, I saw that thing and I saw it clearly. If it wasn’t that same one, then it was the same make and model. Good luck everyone, and …….look up. There’s a lot going on up there.

To the witness .believe every word you’ve written as myself and my sister(when aged 11 and12) witnessed something very similar back in 78 in New Zealand.the only thing that perplexed me is how an object in orbit can reduce its altitude so much, for we witnessed this thing to be at around 5km hight.we may have only been young at the time but kids can distinguish between technology available at the time and something completely different.i have seen many unusual things in my life and have mostly been able to justify them through physics but unfortunately not this.i guess it’s going to be a waiting game to find out,but if this has extratarrestrial origins of an intelligent nature I hope they stop hiding as I’m getting older and more cantankerous.keep looking up everyone

Hi witness, that’s amazing that you were able to see the black knight with your naked eye, lol I envy you anyways it must have been life changing, I watch a you tube channel named secure team 10 and saw a video there claiming that our government shot the black night down, I don’t know if it was true? Or what year it supposedly happened? It made me sad to hear about it But whatever was shot down in the video was close to earth and I haven’t been able to find much about the black knight since whenever I Google it when previous to the shooting I was able to find a lot more anyways wanted to congratulate you on seeing it first hand and say thank you for sharing your story

You might say I’m just a nut. As I sleep in short burst a person comes to me and we talk. He is from Atlantis [ his words not mine] and it’s not Atlantis but that is close. Looking for something you will never find. Atlantis is a space ship. Many thousand’s of years ago when their planet was dyeing they built a mother ship and many smaller ships. They look for planets much like earth to set down on. They break apart the mother ship landing first then the other ships landing. Spending time on repairs and building new ships to add to their fleet. After a time here on earth 200 years they move on. When they do they leave a Satellite. As if its the black Knight or not I’m not sure. He did say it’s bigger on the inside than on the outside. He wouldn’t say why they left it behind.

There are currently more than 100,000 satellites orbiting the Earth, from space junk, to high tech probes transmitting signals back to Earth. But one of these satellites is thought to be of extraterrestrial origin and has been circling our planet, prior to the launch of Sputnik. This mysterious spacecraft is known as the Black Knight satellite, alleged to be of alien provenance and covered up by NASA for more than 60 years.
While most man-made satellites orbit in prograde, due to the ease and fuel efficiency of using the Earth’s natural gravitational pull, the Black Knight is said to orbit in retrograde, adding to its curious nature. But is it actually an alien satellite monitoring our planet, or simply a thermal space blanket like NASA has claimed photo evidence of it to be?
Recently, a series of fast radio bursts were picked up by Stephen Hawking’s Breakthrough Listen Initiative, which some have speculated could be coming from the technology of an advanced, extraterrestrial species. This wouldn’t be the first time a scientist picked up signals from the cosmos and believed it to be of alien origin. Nearly a century ago, Nikola Tesla claimed to have recorded electrical signals at his laboratory in Colorado Springs that were of intelligent nature.
Tesla had been working on the technology for his Wardenclyffe Tower, when he noticed signals which were not of earthly origin and could be ruled out as being weather-related. He believed the signals were being transmitted from a civilization on Mars, so he developed a device to send signals back out to make contact. Tesla was arguably the most well-versed in radio signal transmission at the time, having pioneered the technology, so it’s hard to imagine that he would have been confused by any earthly interference.
No one knows exactly what those signals were that Tesla picked up, but some believe that it might have been a transmission from the Black Knight satellite. Not long after Tesla’s reception, an amateur radio operator in Norway, named Jørgen Hals recorded transmissions called Long Delayed Echoes, or LDEs. A theory by Stanford professor, Ron Bracewell, proposed that these echoes were the product of an alien satellite picking up radio signals from Earth and rebroadcasting them back, creating a delay of several seconds. Some have speculated that the Black Knight could be this theoretical satellite, known as a Bracewell probe.
In the early 1970s, a man named Duncan Lunan reinterpreted and examined these LDEs, concluding that they were too strong to simply be echoes of radio signals from Earth. Lunan said he translated the signals and, to his surprise found a map of Epsilon Boötis, a binary star in the Boötes system. Although Lunan doesn’t like his interpretation of the LDEs associated with the conspiracy surrounding the Black Knight, there are similarities in the nature of his discovery and its timeliness.
In 1954, there were a few news reports claiming that the U.S. Air Force had discovered two satellites orbiting the Earth. With Sputnik, the first man-made satellite, not launching for another three years, the discovery obviously came as a surprise. But the U.S. Air Force was not the only government agency to notice the satellites. The Venezuelan Communications Ministry also noticed their presence a few years later while tracking Sputnik. The ministry noted that these satellites were moving from east to west, orbiting in retrograde. Aside from the fact that there were only a few artificial satellites in orbit at the time, none would have been in retrograde orbit.
In 1954, Donald Keyhoe claimed that a satellite was found to be orbiting Earth. Keyhoe was originally a marine naval aviator who later became the most prominent name in ufology, establishing the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena, or NICAP. Keyhoe’s claim was picked up by the San Francisco Examiner and St. Louis Post Dispatch. According to the articles, Keyhoe said that the Secretary of the Air Force, Harold Talbott, was aware of the satellites and had even witnessed a ‘silvery, disc-shaped object’ in the sky. Though, Talbott dismissed these claims.
Another confounding characteristic of the Black Knight was the fact that it was circling the Earth in polar orbit, a feat not accomplished by man-made satellites until 1960. This type of orbit is typically used for mapping, reconnaissance, and tracking, and often it is done in a sun-synchronous orbit so that each time the satellite passes a particular spot, it is the same time of day. The combination of retrograde and polar orbits makes this type of satellite stick out especially in the late 50s/early 60s when satellite technology was in its nascent phases. And it wasn’t just military entities who photographed an unidentified satellite, but also the Smithsonian Observatory at Harvard as well as the Gruman Aircraft Corporation in New York.
But the story of the Black Knight gets even more bizarre with the French Space Commission’s observation of the satellite while Jacques Vallée was on staff. Despite excitement and intrigue by Vallée and his colleagues, a senior member of his team deleted their imaging of the satellite, for reasons unknown. While Vallée said he believed it was out of embarrassment for the commission’s inability to identify the orbiting object, it was becoming increasingly common for agencies around the world to notice the unidentified satellite, without explanation.
That’s what I know about all this

The Black Knight Satellite is the name given to an object captured on camera by NASA astronauts during a 1998 space shuttle mission.
Conspiracy theorists claim the satellite is of extraterrestrial origin and possibly up to 13,000 years old and orbiting Earth in near-polar orbit. The legend has been circulating since the Sixties and now footage uploaded to YouTube channel Section 51 claims to be evidence of the alleged craft. A caption beneath the video reads: “Leaked pictures from ISS show the 13,000 year old Black Knight Satellite UFO very close to Soyuz Spacecraft during approach to the Station.”
The Black Knight Satellite theory developed in 1963 when NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper was reported as saying he had seen the satellite while in space, but there was a media blackout upon his return and the US space agency allegedly put it down to cosmic hallucinations. A decade later in 1973, Duncan Lunan, a researcher from Scotland, looked back at the Norwegian scientist data from 1928, before claiming the “messages” suggested the Black Knight was sent by aliens from Epsilon Boötis, as a welcome message to Earth 12,600 years ago.

The Black Knight satellite conspiracy theory claims that there is a spacecraft in near-polar orbit of the Earth that is of extraterrestrial origin, and that NASA is engaged in a cover-up regarding its existence and origin This conspiracy theory combines several unrelated stories into one narrative.
A 1998 NASA photo is believed by some to show the Black Knight satellite, but NASA has stated that this is likely space debris, specifically a thermal blanket lost during an EVA mission.
According to some UFO conspiracists, the Black Knight is an artificial satellite of extraterrestrial origin which has orbited Earth for approximately 13,000 years; the “satellite” story is most likely a conflation of several disconnected stories about various objects and their interpretations, all of them well documented independently and none using the term “Black Knight” upon their first publication According to senior education support officer Martina Redpath of Armagh Planetarium in Northern Ireland:
Black Knight is a jumble of completely unrelated stories; reports of unusual science observations, authors promoting fringe ideas, classified spy satellites and people over-interpreting photos. These ingredients have been chopped up, stirred together and stewed on the internet to one rambling and inconsistent dollop of myth.
The origin of the Black Knight legend is often “retrospectively dated” back to natural extraterrestrial repeating sources supposedly heard during the 1899 radio experiments of Nikola Tesla and long delayed echoes first heard by amateur radio operator Jorgen Hals in Oslo, Norway, in 1928. Brian Dunning of the Skeptoid podcast attributes Tesla’s 1899 radio signals to pulsars, which were not identified until 1968.
In 1954, UFO researcher Donald Keyhoe told newspapers that the U.S. Air Force had reported that two satellites orbiting Earth had been detected. At that time, no country had the technology to launch a satellite. Skeptics have noted that Keyhoe had been promoting a UFO book at the time, and the news stories were likely written “tongue-in-cheek” and not intended to be taken seriously.
A British rocket called the Black Knight rocket was used in conjunction with the Blue Streak missile program between 1958 and 1965, to test re-entry vehicles. A “Black Knight satellite launcher” project announced in 1964 was considered a priority by the Ministry of Aviation. The program never put anything into orbit, and it is unrelated to the Black Knight satellite legend.
In February 1960, TIME reported that the U.S. Navy had detected a dark object thought to be a Soviet spy satellite in orbit. A follow-up article confirmed that the object was “the remains of an Air Force Discoverer VIII satellite that had gone astray.”
In 1963, astronaut Gordon Cooper supposedly reported a UFO sighting during his 15th orbit in Mercury 9 that was confirmed by tracking stations, but there is no evidence that this happened. Neither NASA’s mission transcripts nor Cooper’s personal copies show any such report being made during the orbit.
In 1973, Scottish author Duncan Lunan analyzed the long delayed radio echoes received by Hals and others and speculated that they could possibly originate from a 13,000 year old alien probe located in an orbit around the Earth’s Moon. He suggested that the probe may have originated from a planet located in the solar system of star Epsilon Boötis. Lunan later retracted his conclusions, saying that he had made “outright errors” and that his methods had been “unscientific”.
Space debris photographed in 1998 during the STS-88 mission has been widely claimed to be the Black Knight satellite. Space journalist James Oberg considers it probable that the photographs are of a thermal blanket that was confirmed as lost during an EVA by Jerry L. Ross and James H. Newman.

There are spirals of less gravity than the norm on the face of the earth that, when investigated, will go on to tell WHY many of the ancient monuments were built. The two I am most sure of are at Giza an in Florida. The Egyptian one passes directly through the peaks of the three main pyramids and the one in our hemisphere stars at Corkscrew Marsh. they Giza plateau was drawn up and the Florida keys were formed by these two spirals. (The reason why the keys are not perfectly on the pattern of the spiral is due to local tides and currents affecting their placements.)

I enjoyed reading many of these comments on the so-called Black Knight satellite.
It seems that the more bizarre the comment, the more illiterate the English.
In 1969 to 1971 I worked the night shift, from 4:30p.m. to midnight. I got home and ate supper at about 1:00 a.m. I would then go to my lounge chair in the front yard to relax a while and drink a glass tea before bed.
One night I noticed a satellite in a South to North polar orbit. I observed this satellite almost nightly for many nights, until cooler weather forced me inside.
Some time later in talking to a member of a local astronomy club did I learn that there was no known satellite in that orbit.
I never saw it again, as light pollution finally caught up with my semi-rural location.
What was it? I don’t know. I just know what I saw.
Yes, I have read the Bhagavad-Gita and Ezekiel. I have seen photographs of Mayan spacemen and the Egyptian hieroglyphic purporting to be astronauts.
I’m not convinced of any extra-terrestrial influence or lost ancient technologies.
Mankind has a vivid imagination and the ancients wrote vivid and imaginative literature.
Some purporting to be of divine origin that still plague and curse us to this day.
Brian Noble · October 18, 2017 at 14:46
The possibility exists for an unknown satellite, just as the possibility exists for EEVs (Extra Earth Vehicles) being in our air spaces. If such a satellite were being tracked you wouldn’t know about it – it would be ‘Eyes Only’. As a retired science journalist I can assure you Col Corso et al, and many other whistle blowers, are not insane, there are unknown vehicles in our air spaces that the ‘powers that be’ are well aware of… See my book ‘The Third Explanation’ sold by Barnes and Noble and Amazon world-wide.
I guarantee you will have a shock you will never quite recover over!

Everyone keeps asking for sources when they cant accept something.
Sources are made by people like you and me, and need to have started somewhere.
So if the documents of old are not sources, then the documents of today, (modern) can also not be sources.
What many tend to mean when they ask for sources, is “official sources”. The same “sources” from the same people that lie and tell stories to fit into what ever agenda they are promoting, all the while hiding things from the public.
Everything is a theory when it comes to things like this, but that is all right. A theory is a means for our brains to take knowledge and expand on it, after all, that is what our brains are for.
Many do not know the real reason for the digging all over the world. It is looking for ancient knowledge, that knowledge that has propelled our society in the last 100 years, and without it we would still be running steam trains.
So when someone asks me for a source, i tell them, i have just given it to you.
This idea of sources is a taught thing that allows only the “official” sources to be used, thereby stopping free thinkers and people who actually think and come up with new ideas and theories.

I appreciate this article quite a bit actually. Coming from someone who enjoys the Black Knight Conspiracy Theory that I’ve known about for some years, it’s nice to see someone who created an article discussing the reality and facts surrounding much of the myth and lore connected to the Black Knight. Personally I believed this theory for a long time, before researching and discovering the evidence regarding all the propaganda surrounding the “satellite” from the author you mentioned in the article, Donald Keyhoe (I’m certain his books sales did go up quite a bit), to the facts of the thermal blanket during the mission to the ISS in 1998.
I do enjoy a good conspiracy theory myself, but I’m also not among the mindless, ignorant, and unintelligible masses who make absurd claims and statements about beliefs without any evidence in their corner, or sources to list for any so called “evidence” they may actually mention. The part baffling me most is when you politely request for said sources, and they cannot provide them, or people continue to post long wordy comments that seem intelligent on the surface, yet also do not quote or site sources!
My view, personally, is that the Black Knight satellite is an interesting topic of conversation, but based on evidence, most likely does not exist. While I do believe ancient cultures and civilizations had an incredible capacity for discovery and innovation, as is evidenced by structures like the pyramids all over the planet, and other such incredible wonders like the Mo’ai of Easter Island, I also strive to the best of my abilities to never make wild claims unless backing them with sources and evidence.
If I do ever make a wild claim, I will also acknowledge that it is just that, a claim. Furthermore, I also enjoy making wild claims and ideas, but never pass them off as fact, but rather the machinations of my own imagination developed for the fun of creating interesting discussion between people.
To summarize, I believe there are many mysterious things on this planet we cannot rightly or coherently explain yet, but I doubt the Black Knight is one of them. I appreciate good or unique conspiracy theories, but do not place them in the category of “factual truths”. I’m a skeptic, but a rational one. If you offer me evidence, I will research for myself.
In the case of the Black Knight, as much as I would like to believe that it is in fact a 13,000 year old terrestrial or extraterrestrial satellite, I know that is not the case or even slightly the case based on clear and available data.
Thank you for writing such a cohesive and coherent article (even if I am reading this four years late lol).
P.S. I love Nikola Tesla and think he was a brilliant man, but yes, he was quite the eccentric.

I don’t pretend to know anything or understand everything, but can someone please explain to me why the astronaut had a space blanket outside with him? He was in a space suit that should be insulated anyway, so really there should be no need for him to have a space blanket outside with him.

I have thoroughly enjoyed you battles with some of the posters. I live up the road from you and it would be great to have a pint and a chat. I’m sure the night would fly past listening to what you had to say. I must say that I would lean to your opinion that in the balance of probability the black knight doesn’t exist. However, as there is no concrete evidence (you would say no evidence at all lol) that it exists, this does prove that it does not exist. As there is no definitive proof that it does not exist either. They flip version of this would be black holes or dark matter/energy. There is a lot of evidence to suggest they exist but no concrete undeniable evidence. There is also no evidence to suggest they don’t exist. Hence why they are still termed “theories”. You touched on it in one section with regard the onus on who it is that has to provide proof. I love this debate within science and life in general. Is it the person that says it exists or the person that says it doesn’t? I believe it’s both. Having said all that I once heard someone say a very wise thing. Don’t have too open a mind as to let your brain fall out. Nor have too closed a mind as to let the truth escape you.
Thanks again for some great reading.

I predict a privately owned drone will resolve this debate within the next decade, or less.

Why is it that there aren’t any organisations actively investigating this object? Im sure if SpaceX can perform such manoeuvres as retro boost landings, it can launch a mission to get up close and personal to this object and find out what it is.
Surely there is a way to do this, what is the big hold off?
question more · December 10, 2016 at 16:07
Your right i used that as a sort of open comment “Why are you so sure about this? This is different in every respect to the other things reported as the “Black Knight”
The sts 120 days in space that theres no puplic info, ran by nasa, darpa shuttle had payload to polar orbit launch capacity of about 14 tons, and payload recovery capability of about 16 tons (19.5). Depending on the physical volume of the Black Knight satellite, it is conceivable that the object might have been recovered and returned to Earth during one of these classified missions of the shuttle,no shuttle now?Russia is the only way to get the low orbiting iss now?
We have only had the technology to discover objects like this for a couple of decades.
Thats weak at the very best. moon, mars rovers, man made satellites leaving the solar system etc
Are you sure of that? Alloys and plastic components would still be recognisable after 6000 years. We would see traces of industrial pollution and exhaust products in polar ice cores and sea bed sediments.
Yes Alloys are metals with elements mixed in.Are you talking binary alloy, ternary alloy, quaternary alloy or quinary alloys, alloy is technically an impure metal, impurities are often found in the base metals or the solutes.Iron sulfide, which is very brittle, creating weak spots in the steel. Lithium, sodium and calcium are common impurities in aluminum alloys, which can have adverse effects on the structural integrity drastically reducing full life to few thousand years.
Now plastics, synthetic, semi-synthetic or organic compounds,if they were even using them, oil bio products in a vac UV free you could get thousands of years out of them not five thousand plus. UV exposure will cause it to degrade very quicky over time let aloan wind, water etc.The world’s first fully synthetic plastic was bakelite, invented in 1907.Early plastics were bio-derived materials such as egg and blood proteins, which are organic polymers. 1600 BC Mesoamericans used natural rubber for balls, bands, and figurines.so i think its a synthetic vs organic deal just entropy gets it all my friend.Just remembered species of soil fungi can consume polyurethane,Flavobacterium cosumes nylon 4,6 and 10, Aspergillus fumigatus eats pvc,Acinetobacter has been found to partially degrade polyethylene oligomers,Sphingomonas can degrade over 40% of the weight of plastic bags in less than three months theres more for metal and plastic it about two pages worth.cant be asked
We would see traces of industrial pollution and exhaust products in polar ice cores and sea bed sediments.
Thats depending on many factors less then two million people on the planet do not make that much pollution ice cores are debatable dust, ash, pollen, bubbles of atmospheric gas and radioactive substances are trapped in ice but thats down to snow fall trapping, through isotopic analysis the reconstruction of local temperature records and the history of atmospheric composition can go back about .8 of a million years its a temperature calendar nothing more, you can not even in these cores see what we were doing with air and ground nuclear explosions no gamma nothing maybe in a thousand years or so if the planet cools and snow can trap.Sea bed sediments another big subject here we go processes of weathering and erosion, and is subsequently transported by the action of wind, water, or ice, and/or by the force of gravity acting on the particles in streams and rivers reaching the sea be deposited by sedimentation and if buried this may eventually become sandstone and siltstone. Erosion and agricultural sediment delivery to rivers marine sediment from animals 165-400 million years old, humans need to be on this planet for 100 million years for us to show up in sea bed sediments.
Egyptians had batterys for sure
I will need to see really good evidence before I believe this.
Around a dozen clay jars, measuring around 13cm (5in) long, and dating back around 2,000 years, are believed to be the world’s oldest electrical cells (batteries). The jars contain a copper cylinder and an iron rod, along with signs of acidic corrosion. Modern replicas of these objects have been shown to function as rudimentary electrical cells (batteries), and it is possible that they were used for electroplating. Their exact origin and age is disputed. But some reports claim they were discovered in the basement of the Baghdad Museum by German archaeologist Wilhelm Konig in 1938.
As electrical generators, the “Baghdad batteries” would be inefficient when compared to modern devices. However, if placed in appropriate network arrays, these artifacts could produce a qualitative power output. Luigi Galvani formulated a similar electrochemical couple experiment in the 1780s and, 20 years later, Alessandro Volta developed enough theory to convert Galvani’s simple experiment into the efficient voltaic pile, producing around 30 volts of continuous current (but Volta’s devices were much larger than known Baghdad relics). Within two or three more years Sir Humphry Davy was using voltaic piles that produced 1,000 volts and enough current to run an arc lamp.
this is the only scientific proof i have although similar copper and iron jars smashed have been found in egypt.Dendera Glyphs, Djed, Ankh and Staff-Scepter hieroglyphs check them out the snake symbol happens to be very similar to the modern symbol of static electricity and Horus represented lightning and the all see eye whatever that means.
just because your told we where less smart in the past you say 50,000 years ago we had fire,4000 years ago we had the wheel and in a 100 years from dragging artillery guns with shire horses, satellites, robots, moon landings, microchips, mars landings, computers, cell phones, cern, gmos etc in the last 100 years whats going on, are we super intelligent now or have we always been can you explain that to me white knight in reality its 1716
I do not believe that, where do you think I said that?
sorry english gamma sometimes talks as the third and fourth person (you) meaning to you as lets.its an analogy ,you don not dismiss the 1716 analogy cool .Over 75% of knowledge is wrong in the future ie. you can sail off the edge of the earth, the worlds flat, the sun goes round the earth. Romans wind the clocks back three hundred years how many times has that happened forwards or back.

Dear Question More, thank you for your comments. May I ask you to make future comments much briefer or I will have to edit them.
I do not understand this. Are you referring to the NASA mission STS-120?
No Shuttle mission even flew into polar orbit, see our article 10 Space Shuttles which never flew (link).
Observing small (hundreds of metres across) dark objects is more difficult than you think (also for a good part of the 20th century astronomers weren’t interested in them!)
The book The World Without Us by Alan Weisman (2007) argues pretty convincingly that contemporary artefacts and materials (especially plastics) will survive for millennia.
If you are arguing that there was a civilisation on Earth in the past capable of building spacecraft (I apologise if this is not what you are saying, but it is what you seem to be implying), it would have needed a larger population than two million people and would have left traces of pollution in polar ice just as we are doing today.
I am sorry to say that the interpretation of this object as an electrical battery is not taken seriously by archeologists.
I do not understand your comment, no one is saying humans were less intelligent in the past. Only now do we have the centuries of accumulated knowledge and infrastructure plus the population size to support a technological civilisation. This is nothing to do with human intelligence which is pretty much unchanged since we first evolved,
I do not understand this at all.
Again I do not see what you are saying here.

Hi admin the black knight sat is the other moon 120 meters across 2016 HO3 As it orbits the sun, appears to circle around Earth as well. It is too distant to be considered a true satellite of our planet, but it is the best and most stable example to date of a near-Earth companion, or “quasi-satellite. Paul Chodas, manager of NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object (NEO) Studies at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. “One other asteroid — 2003 YN107 — followed a similar orbital pattern for a while over 10 years ago, but it has since departed our vicinity. This new asteroid is much more locked onto us. Our calculations indicate 2016 HO3 has been a stable quasi-satellite of Earth for almost a CENTURY, and it will continue to follow this pattern as Earth’s companion for Centuries to come.”
So we missed that for 100s of years and it was there all the time mr admin what do you say about that, also any humans fantasy, imagination becomes reality. 95% of all scientific answers came from mistakes or experiments that brought forward a question not even thought about, my point as a nuclear engineer is entropy, if we had great tools, ground and air machines say more then six thousand years ago, their would be nothing left no even dust only elements the only things left are items hidden in air tight tombs or massive stone structures the best time capsule maybe a satellite in space,4000 years ago Egyptians had batterys for sure the trouble with archaeologists if they do not understand its sacrificial or religious

Hi admin and greetings to all readers.
Lets talk some sensible ‘facts’ and findings only. First of all congratulations for starting great discussion. In short Vimanas were absolutely real and it is true that all the Indian ancient kings were used to have advance tech Vimanas, not only to fly from India to New your but from Galaxy to Galaxy. Joke..? Well you can laugh.
Fact- Russian president declared ‘Sapthamahanagaratham’ (the ancient and holy land of the 722 flying vehicles) as top heritage site and its security is ultra level.
Fact – A 12000 year old…How much??? A 12000 year old Vimana shaft discovered in Russia.(Which was a part of Vedic India before 4000 years).
Fact – A 13 sq mile drawing called Sri Yantra has been designed on remote dry lake bed in Oregon, near the Idaho border. Which was only possible by a ancient advance tech VIMANA by Tesla ray or death ray or may be a similar ray. Why most of the crop circles are ancient Indian Vedic symbols eg. Aum, Shri Yantra, Kundalini.
Findings and theory – We poor human beings are living in darkest ages of Brahmand (The Universe). We are happy to be ignorant and we believe in not believing folks. There is a very and highly advance tech is present around us(Which we cant dream even). We are not designed to understand deepest hidden truths of universe but they exists and I believe some very special human beings have access to it. Which again is a deep secret.
Now I ask you a simple question…Have u heard the term ’12 Strand DNA’ ????
If not then jump into internet sea…Have a great day friends.
admin · September 15, 2016 at 12:26
Dear Pushkar, thank you for your comments. I am sorry to say that your stated facts are not actually true.
Please see our article Was NASA Technology Predicted in Ancient Indian Writings? (link)
If this his true it would have been widely reported by major media outlets, Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Reuters, Russia Today etc, wouldn’t it? So where is this media coverage?
Which journals reported this find?
This is true, but, just like crop circles, there is nothing of scientific interest about it. You can read about how it was made by artist Bill Witherspoon in the article linked to here.
Yes, but you do realise that it is nonsense?
Pushkar · September 19, 2016 at 12:13
Dear Admin, thanks for the reply.
About – Russian president declared ‘Sapthamahanagaratham’ (the ancient and holy land of the 722 flying vehicles) as top heritage site and its security is ultra level.
Buddy when all the main stream media has been sold out to agenda running govt. Do you still expect them to highlight this for common man. They why you and me rely on internet or the alternate media.
Ohh Admin I was not expecting a childish reply on 13Sqft Shri Yantra theory. Google it right now and find out yourself how it was made. It was appeared in a single night. When these claiming puppets asked to draw same thing on a paper, they were scratching their collective heads. This will not be told by Sold media.
Do you know Russian and Sanskrit languages shares the same alphabetic pattern. Well Well what do you know? Why don’t you google ‘Sapthamahanagaratham’. And what do you expect that they will tell you insights of this highly classified secret. Use your perception buddy. Even a Sanskrit scholar cant pronounce the word correctly at first attempt.
Well lets discuss Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Reuters. Don’t you know they are just mouthpieces of capitalist powers for perception moulding and telling lies. They don’t want us to know what lies beneath.
Dear Bro I think you should more research by yourself and use your perception than anything else. Crop circles can not be made like how Capitalist media is boasting about, they just spreading lies that there is nothing beyond their knowledge, truth is that they even scared what is above their reach.
And google about discovered 12000 years landing gear found. You will get its pics and some descriptions also.
All the best and deep respect to you running this blog and writing the best article on Balck Kinght setteleite. Have a gr8 time.
admin · September 19, 2016 at 14:10
Dear Pushkar, thank you for your lengthy response. You seem to expect me to believe everything you say without any evidence. Do you not see how weak this makes your position?
Pushkar · September 26, 2016 at 09:41
Hi Admin…Let me speak a bitter truth. I as a true Indian or Hindu need not to let anyone believe me, I ask to use one’s self perception please. What ever I have written might be false because other people like me with human flesh and mind did not written the same concept in huge numbers…Is that u call a evidence buddy?
Or any so called Rubber stamp does not clarifies or testifies the above in any court. It still exists and will remain unchallenged no matter you or I getting agreed.
Am a simple guy just curious enough to find your blog that’s it…How can I produce evidences. I leave it up to you for being resourceful and investigative in your approach.
Sorry for another lengthy reply. Still your blog is way better than other.
Have a gr8 day.

Ok life as we know it need oxygen, water , the whole nine yards and then some.
Mars has none, I’m playing around with the idea that Mars ,,, shared the same obit
as the Earth billion, trillions years ago , being 93,000,000 miles from the Sun is
life. and some how Mars got knock out of it’s obit to where it is now. But if there was life on Mars, there are no building that we know of , to what we think of what a building
should look like. of coarse it’s possible , that they built under ground. As people that love space and everything that goes with it . Is it so impossible that it could be !!!

So I find this and the whole “Ancient Allien” theory interesting. This doesn’t mean I’m sold though. I believe things like this can be just as easily disproved as they are proved. For the believers I would say this, look for holes in whatever it is that makes you believe and if you find holes it is probably fake. There are so many comments here I couldn’t read them all before I completely lost interest. One trend I did noticed is almost every time the Admin asked for references for claims none were provided. I find that funny.

Thank you for this blog, I really don’t understand why some are so deeply passionate about this subject, or conspiracy theories in general, it’s true that some even bend the truth to convince others and themselves it could be true. I just want to make a point in the form of a question that I don’t know if anyone else made or asked —We have a whole facet of astronomy that has to do with detecting alien life, SETI. why wouldn’t they look In to the “dark knight”? Or most likely they did and found the truth which is what the official story is. I think some just hate authority and dismiss the official story every time because of that deep hatred. Again thanks for your fabulous insights and answers. We need to weed out the trails of b.s. meant to distract us from the real truth (which is ow easy it is to be truly awed and intelligent and in control of your own life). To The Truth!!!

First of all, please don’t be so harsh with me because of my ortography and phrasing: English Isn’t my native language, I’m Catalonian, so I’m best in Catalonian or Spanish.
OK, so lets believe for a moment that Black Knight Satellite really, really exists as their True Believers “know”…
-So, is in a polar orbit… How can I watch it? Sure if it is a well known artifact, it’s orbit, as ANY orbit has to be, follows a predictable path that could be followed and watched, isn’t it? As would be his angular speed and relative azimut… Or is changing orbit, height and speed at will?
-Many people claim it’s still broadcasting radio signals… Wich band? Which frequency? I want to hear it too! I wanna believe!
-I’ve readed a lot of arguments telling it has smaller consort objects… Where can I see them? Any good resolution pictures? Or is a case of naked eye observation? No information on time, place, azimut, albedo and displacement vector?
-I’ve also readed a lot of reports talking about it being a huge object, with a multiton mass and a couple scores of miles across. So if it’s really a satellite, with a known polar orbit, with this size it has to have a very high albedo and really easy to watch at naked eye or with a good pair of binocles, just being less than 20.000 kilometers from the ground… Please, tell where and when can I see it… I really, REALLY want to believe…
So, please, true believers, give me just one Little answer…
How can I see it by myself?
And to Martina and admin:
Nice work on documenting and putting together a lot of especulations about that so called Black Knight Satellite. And great work on keeping on the facts, droping all the especulative artwork. I’ve readed the Oberg file and agree with the esplanation offered. By the way, a lot of the pictures I’ve seen of the alleged Black Knight are croped, tilted and/or mirrored from the same ones Mr Oberg uses as reference to compare with the blanket stills. And as he says, the blanket fell of orbit and presumably burned itsef to ashes few weeks after the incident…
To the ones caliming the blanket is “shiny silvery” and the Black Knight is, well, black… Do you know what a shadow is? Do you know how Exposure works on a photographic camera? Do you know that a bright object picked against a brighter background seems darker if the exposure is set to pick the background detail?
Just a couple of cents to make you think about it.

The famous scientist and polymath Jacques Vallee became interested in the study of ufology when working for the French Space Committee. Autobiographical sources describe him witnessing a retrograde satellite in 1961 when employed by the aforementioned agency. His superior destroyed all information regarding the satellite as it was beyond the current technology of that time. Did the estimable Vallee encounter the Black Knight satellite? Given his theories on the nuts and bolts type ufo’s probably not. I would add that considering the cold war and the race to space who knows what had been sent up into the upper atmosphere in a covert manner during that era. But it’s not a vril powered Vedic spaceship. However It might be a Von Neuman probe sent by us in the future that went a bit haywire…

In 1973 or ’74, a sunny Summers evening. Sat on the front step of our bungalow in Bodmin looking towards Lanhydrock. My friend and I were messing about with binoculars watching airliners in the distance when we spotted a small dark object seemingly much nearer and lower than the jets and moving faster! It got closer and we could see it in more detail. For the past 42-43 years, I have been telling everyone this story, actually not knowing anything about the Black Knight satellite until very recently (the past year). The image was distorted over time, but I always maintained the details of what we had seen that evening. It was very angular – definitely not oval or round shaped. There were no flashing lights or noises of any kind and it moved slowly in a straight path until it was out of view. It was metallic like gunmetal and had angular sides with parallel lines (like corregated steel sheets)
admin · September 15, 2015 at 13:39

Hey Russ. your sighting sounds familiar. the summer of 73, at 14 yrs old, a friend and i that had a passion for climbing on top of local grade school to camp out and stargaze, on a beautiful star lit night in sw ks., we first noticed this dark rather large object tumbling in low earth orbit. it was irregular in shape, couldnt say metallic, appearing from the north skies and traveling southward. we were astonished and perplexed. were even more shocked when in an hour or so it appeared again from the north but at a different angle. wow. we soon figured a time lapse between sightings and both watched for its return . we were spellbound. it took mere seconds to cross from one horizon to other. we stayed up all night viewing. nothing in the news. told our science teacher who dissed us in front of class. never have had explanation. dont buy much into alot of reported sightings of such. i will probably never know its true origin

There is God in shape of aliens, I believe. And also I beleive that there is an advanced species which can live in every biotic and abiotic conditions any where in the universe without air, water, food, fire. Those species are the the creators of everything & they are the gods. They are experimenting on every galactic earth. we humans cannot even exactly count the number of cells in our body, then how could we so early come to a result. The most remarkable was that they all stood upright to see out the windows. I know there’s no up in orbit, but the windows were up from their perspective and it’s hard to see out a window unless your head is near it.
Really appreciate your article.
Occam was right.
PS: I have to go now, the unicorns are in the lettuce patch again, I have to put them back in the chicken shed; really annoys the chickens.

You have to love the hubris of this author, “admin”. The entire article is thus paraphrased: “Here is a collection of possibilities and stories about an object that nobody really (despite what THEY say) knows anything about… Except me. I know about it because I somehow know what it isnt without having to cite a single source for my conclusion while demanding that anyone with a differing opinion must cite their sources for proof.”
Well, since admin clearly is privy to unreferenced information to know what it isn’t, then admin should have no problem proving what it IS. So, where is THAT proof, professor admin? And, if a true scientist, how can you, without using the scientific method or conducting a single experiment, present your uneducated hypothesis as factual and settled, with higher standing than all other opinions, when you have no idea yourself? Your vanity is astounding.
admin · August 17, 2015 at 09:02
Dear James, thank you for your comments. Just to clarify, I moderate this blog and edit the articles but my colleague Martina researched and wrote the article.
Have you not seen the multiple links to references throughout the article? If you have, please identify what you believe to be unreferenced.
The whole point of the article is that there isn’t anything there. Near the end Martina says
That seems a pretty fair summation to me.
The only experiment it would seem to me that would falsify the Black Knight “hypothesis” is to attempt observe it. However none of the Black Knight’s supporters can agree to where it is located in space so this experiment is not currently feasible.

I do believe what I saw… So I think this when they put Black Knight out there to orbit to observe the evolution… possible Human Hybrid while this earth full of Neanderthal , they created some new human hybrid possible this Homo sapiens… like the bible said the begin of new human… Adam and Eve…. so maybe this two are important subject for Alien scientist to study on Hybrid Human on the earth… Put Black Knight to keep records everything on this earth during evolution growing… I heard some say this Earth is the alike Terra Prison Or Experiment subject…. I knew it We are not ALONE!, This Jesus or The God.. is only an Aliens who show us the superiority technology… So I assume you Aliens Exterminated almost all Neanderthal (some are survived today as Big Foot) to replace their Hybrid Human like us…. I truly enjoyed your article. I found the comments and your integrity to me far more entertaining. As a scholar I appreciate your continual enforcement of sources. Nothing bothers me more than when people make rash statements without anyway of backing them up. The fault of modern internet, where nobody needs to back up a claim, they just need to state it firmly.
As a religious studies scholar I would like to offer up the fact that Sanskrit is the traditional holy language of Hinduism. Whereas, Pali is the holy language of Buddhism, hence the term Pali cannon in Buddhism. Modern day Sri Lanka (formally Ceylon) had never had Sanskrit brought into their country until the late 18 hundreds when madame Blavatsky and Olcott visited Ceylon and become the first Western Buddhist. Ceylon did not have Hindus in their country just Buddhist (and some Bo, and some Christians). However Pali is still just a holy language of Buddhist scripture, the main languages of Ceylon are Sinhala, and Tamil. For sources look up “how the swans came to the lake”, as well as most wiki articles on Sri Lanka will held that Sanskrit is not spoken there.
As far as great Sanskrit epics, I assume people are referring to the Upanishads and the Bhadavaha Gita. Once more these are from India not Ceylon. I would go further into this but in the spirit of sources I do not have any, and Hinduism is not my strong suit of study. Though to my understanding most of these text including the Pali Buddhism ones where not written in either Sanskrit or Pali originally. Most of these text where written in local languages that have been mostly lost, and later translated into their holy languages.

This is the reason that no extraterrestrial object will ever be openly admitted to!
Proof will be covered up and all evidence will be shreded!
Anything leaked to the public will be for all intents an attempt to descensatize humans to the existance of E.T.’s.

Dear Tony, thanks for your input. Other commentators have raised the War of the Worlds broadcast before and my comments remain the same:
I don’t think this can be seen as a lesson that the discovery of life in space would cause a panic; the broadcast was not simply announcing that there was life on Mars, but the much more alarming news that murderous alien invaders were just a few miles away and destroying everything in their path.
Secondly, the magnitude of the panic has been grossly exaggerated (see for example The Myth of the War of the Worlds Panic).
I simply do not understand why people assume a mass panic would result from the discovery of extraterrestrial life.

I’m not sure, I thought this object was something that NASA knew about and just ignored. Are you saying then that NASA has never acknowledged such an object, and as such it is just something made up and supported by the less informed? If so, your last paragraph would make more sense to me now.
admin · June 4, 2015 at 07:37
You’re completely correct in saying NASA has never pronounced the “Black Knight” to exist (nor has anyone else in the space science community). It is just multiple unrelated stories mushed together and parroted around the internet without any critical analysis. You should read the whole article, Martina has very comprehensively described how the legend has grown.
Randall · January 24, 2016 at 20:24
Nasa has also kept secrets about tidal bores on Mars for over twenty years. While others have written about it for centuries. The first being William Hershel (forgive the spelling of his last name,) If memory serves me correct. He was a royal Astronomer and in 1776 he wrote about water on mars. …Would the administration agree that NASA has studied ancient civilizations and used their observations to enhance their own. Also, If Nasa is public property. Shouldn’t they share new discoveries with the public (not technology) when they are discovered and after they have been cross referenced? Again, even in the early 1980’s writers were publishing books on water on Mars. Yes some were only guessing while others presented actual scientific data based off of NASA’S own observations. Why is it that an author or investigative journalist is able to interpret NASA’s data within the same scientific parameters and come out to say yes Mars has water, and in the meantime NASA denies it and makes a point to make that person(s) to look foolish? And then just to come out twenty years after the fact and say, Yes, we knew about the tidal bores on Mars for twenty years and we would like to now confirm. This by no means is a public format. Also the only one that they actually confirm as actually talking about water on Mars is Sir William Herscell(..) And they only say and have not updated the page. That he was wrong. Well we know different. ….I am more than apt to put more validation on someone like Richard C. Hoagland than I am on anybody who works for NASA.

Goku · June 2, 2015 at 19:07
Maybe I missed it, but where do you say here what exactly the thing in the photo is? I’ve seen words like “could be”, “more likely”, and “seems” but nothing conclusive.
Your last paragraph says:
“Black Knight is a jumble of completely unrelated stories; reports of unusual science observations, authors promoting fringe ideas, classified spy satellites and people over-interpreting photos. These ingredients have chopped up, stirred together and stewed on the internet to one rambling and inconsistent dollop of myth”
There is nothing conclusive here. Just like those who have a opinion that this is a UFO, you have an opinion that it is not. My opinion is also that it is unlikely this is a UFO, but your article is titled “The Truth About the Black Knight Satellite Mystery” but there is no conclusive evidence here dispelling the myths.
For me conclusive evidence would be an investigation into the actual object (like maybe send a space observer onto the object) that confirms what exactly it is. If it is just space debris then the effort would have been a big waste of money and time (but at least we know what it is), but if it turns out the object is not from earth it could provide us with a clue about other lifeforms in the universe.
So are you of the opinion then that current evidence does not merit an investigation?
admin · June 3, 2015 at 10:25
Thanks for your interesting response. There is no evidence of there being a single physically real object linked to the Black Knight stories, so, no, I don’t think it is worth investigating.
If tomorrow someone gave you a ready to launch space probe with a camera and told you to use it to investigate the “Black Knight Satellite” where would you send it?
Goku · June 2, 2015 at 17:34
So to summarize then, we still don’t know what the “black knight” actually is?
admin · June 2, 2015 at 17:41
Dear Goku, no, I don’t agree the last paragraph is pretty clear that the Black Knight is just a modern myth. I am genuinely curious, why do you think there is any doubt about this?

Dear Zeb, in the the twenty first century the number of people who genuinely believe the Earth to flat is tiny. These true believers are to be pitied.
I am aware of several websites promoting the idea of a flat Earth. I am very sure that most people who claim to believe this have merely adopted a pose to draw attention to themselves for whatever reason. Engaging with them is simply giving them what they want, so we do not intend to.

Admin, others have said it before, I´m going to say it again: Your patience and persistence are to be commended.
I would´ve given in to the basement dwellers a loooong time ago.
I have watched a few more videos on YouTube, and in ALL of them, multiple, differing objects are tried to be passed off as one.
And for a great deal of the objects, they look an awful lot like the thermal blanket shown on the photos and the vid from inside the space station where the astronauts discuss the object as something they just lost off the craft, and which clearly resembles the trunnion covering. especially the cylindrical part where the trunnion itself rested in, which is a recurring theme in 90% of the alleged Black Knight Satellite photos.
Another 5% resembles fighter jets. The remaining 5%, I have no clue. There is one or two where i really cannot find an explanation.
Regarding the radio signals: a lot of people hear stuff in background or static noise, due to our brain being hard-wired into making out patterns where there are none, especially when frequencies are involved that are part of the range of human speech. Shoot, can´t remember the English word for it.
The part where this object is said to be 13000 years old, that´s the most ridiculous. I´d like to see the C14 dating on which this claim is based.
I think I´ll be visiting this blog repeatedly from now on. You sound like a cool dude and the content is very good as well! Nice work.
Regards, ze German.

I’m flabbergasttered no one has mentioned plain simple ORBITAL DECAY (look it up on wikipedia, if in doubt) which, backed up by good old laws of gravity, means any hypothetical non-self powered satellite orbiting the earth for 13 thousand years would have fallen from the sky EONS ago!
So much for an unsolved mystery.
admin · March 6, 2015 at 14:01
Hi Nilson, I agree with you up to a point. Objects in low Earth orbits experience atmospheric drag causing them to fall into the atmosphere in decades at best. However in higher orbits drag is almost absent and satellites there could stay up a long time, for example the LAGEOS series are estimated to have lifetimes of 8 million years or so!
Of course this has no bearing on the Black Knight Satellite’s reality.

Hey, the article seems to say that one near-polar orbit object was a Discover satellite out of whack, than there was mention that this miss placed Discover story was simply a cover for a purposeful polar orbit spy satellite. Either is an interesting story in it’s own right, without adding “Black Knight” in to it. Do you have more info on this ACTUAL polar orbit object?

admin · February 26, 2015 at 08:35
Dear Sandy, I am afraid that it is impossible to do what you want to do. You cannot find specific individual people in Google Earth.
Google does not use satellites for most Google Earth images. Ultra-high resolution cameras in aeroplanes are used to take the close-up pictures. Google and similar organisations use some satellite imagery, especially for zoomed-out views and those over sparsely-populated areas), but most of the images that allow you to zoom in on buildings etc are really aerial photographs from aircraft as publicly available satellite images are not high enough resolution.
Note too that these images are not necessarily current and may only be updated every few years.
i hope this has helped you.
sonofthunderboarnerges · June 11, 2015 at 19:59
Sandy – There are really no live image satellites for the common man. There is PAID services that CBS TV other’s use for their reality TV shows. But it is very expensive and the resolution is not as good as USA’s spy satellites or your government’s version. However, if your people are in a fair sized Indian city you can use Google Street View application or Bing Map Bird’s Eye application to see people on city or suburban streets. However their faces are usually blurred out for their privacy. The Russian’s may have such a service but I do not know what commercial operation is exploiting it yet. Same goes for China and Israel.
I actually found a man in UK (England) repaving his driveway (via Google Streets) but his face was blurred out. I knew it was him as he was at the address I knew standing behind a locked fence looking at the Google camera vehicle passing by.

@Admin – Long delay echo sounds suspiciously like EME communications that HAM radio enthusiast attempt to enjoy even today (with very high-powered equipment). I would imagine that if a interstellar radio signal or pulsar is detected initially, an EME echo may also occur a few minutes later. It is probably based on where the Lunar reflecting surface (i.e. the moon) is positioned like in the game of billiards and the “English” technique of bouncing billiard balls.
admin · February 3, 2015 at 10:32
Hi, you might enjoy this article (link) on the LDEs.
sonofthunderboarnerges · February 3, 2015 at 14:24
@Admin – I read your linked article. Very interesting. He does mention EME (Earth Moon Earth) reflections. However, I can not find anywhere where there is another plausible explanation before going to ET sources. I never saw “meteor shower” reflection echoes. Hams also try to using them too. Also if the ionosphere is heated up in spots (i.e. HAARP) that can cause reflections too.
The only credible ET radio signal came from SETI (Delaware Ohio) in 1970’s called the WOW! signal by Dr. Jerry Erdman. It was on the Hydrogen line frequency at amazing power levels sourcing from the Sagittarius system. The theory goes that it could have been a planetary radar signal used to track the location of planets by the alleged aliens. They do not think it was deliberately aimed at us. Erdman thinks it was totally accidentally reception not a call to say hello or help. If it was from Sagittarius it would have been transmitted in 1750’s AD (our time). We were in the midst of a war at the time. Most of the Earth was at war at the time.
sonofthunderboarnerges · February 3, 2015 at 01:12
Why is it that everyone forgets about the father of space travel (i,e, NASA) and his secret exploits from Pennemunde in 1945? Werhner von Braun had this idea years before WW2 to do something like this and even manned flight to moon and mars. he never had a chance to launch his A4B (bastard) rocket at USA due to Hitler’s dragging his feet. It was capable of reaching Earth orbit though. A repeating solar-charged radio beacon was not outside NAZI technology. However, it would have long burnt up on re-entry years ago.
In late 1800’s Nikola Tesla was only hearing Marconi’s repeating Morse Code from Cape Cod MASS. Tesla’s Teslascope (allegedly used by only him to communicate with MARTIANS) was not capable of receiving PULSARS. It was nothing more than a primitive spark-gap device. He was probably hearing EMF leakage from local telegraph lines running cross the country (and underwater across world). They where loaded with human intelligence content of his day.
The Americans lied about not having satellites in 1950’s and said they were just sending up monkeys. That was actually the CORONA program which started around the mid-1950’s. The Russian Sputnik was also sending repeating signals in same time period. We where taking pictures and sending them back via parachute pickup.
Why would an alien ET set up a polar orbit repeating radio beacon transmitting on a primitive < HF frequencies? Who would hear it when we didn't have wireless communications until Dr. Loomis invented it in 1866? If ET was phoning home our ionosphere would have prevented the BLACK KNIGHT to transmit to outer space but only allow downward transmission to the planet.
So IMHO the BLACK KNIGHT is just more pseudo-science wishful thinking. It is just a discarded thermal blanket from a NASA space station that never burnt up as it is made of stuff that prevents burning up.
admin · February 3, 2015 at 10:40
Hi, thanks for your comments. I disagree that von Braun’s outfit could have placed a satellite in orbit in 1945 (see Nazis in Space: The Truth about Hitler’s Space Program), that was far beyond the state of the art then. For that matter, if von Braun had launched a satellite surely it would have been used as propaganda for the Third Reich and a great self-publicist like von Braun himself would have endlessly boasted about it! I don’t think this is all possible.

sonofthunderboarnerges · February 10, 2015 at 18:03
@admin – It appears that the Germans DID explore the idea of an orbital device as far back as 1923 by Hermann Oberth. Here is a July 1945 LIFE MAGAZINE article about it just 2-months after WW2. It appears they were working on the idea in earnest in 1945: http://tinyurl.com/nmouwtm
Evidently the space-weapon idea was based on Archimedes similar Earthbound device in 212 BC at the Siege of Syracuse. MIT proved it could work in 2005. Oberth worked with von Braun on rockets program too.
But I still don’t believe the Black Knight is a ancient satellite. Its a black thermal blanket from NASA.

….Correct me if I am wrong… But didn’t Braun publish a paper stating that man would not be ready to go to the moon until 2020-2035 because of the amount of fuel that would be required and also that the rocket would actually need to be the size of the Eifel Tower? The statement is not in question to whether or not man landed on the moon. I simply ask if Braun wrote or published this. Or is it a simply case of others “wanting”
admin · January 29, 2016 at 11:08
Dear Randall, thanks for your question which has fascinated me. I am sure that I read a quote similar to this in some history of spaceflight book I read in the 1970s but I cannot remember what it was. Von Braun was a skilled self-publicist and gave many interviews and wrote many popular articles and it may have been originally said in one of those.
You will of course see the point he was making: to build a single huge rocket that blasts from the Earth’s surface, flies straight to the Moon and lands there, before taking off again to return to Earth is absurd. A more subtle approach would be needed, beginning with using a multi-stage rocket. Von Braun originally championed going to the Moon by assembling a moonship in Earth orbit from components carried up by multiple launches (this also was too complex and expensive, the Apollo missions used the Lunar Orbit Rendezvous technique). You can read about his concept in his own words in an article in Colliers magazine published 18 October 1952 (downloadable from this link). In the same article he says that he expects the first Moon expedition to be leaving in 1977 (not “2020-2035”).
I hope this has helped you.

I must add to the small chorus of voices applauding the authors of this article for their patience and courtesy. I’ve passed a very pleasant hour reading through the comments here, and watching the calm voice of ‘Admin’ gently dealing with some of the most extraordinary stuff I’ve read on-line recently (I don’t get out much, it’s true). It’s fun to speculate about exciting things like secret satellites, and always good to question orthodoxy, but when the Forces of Unreason resort to ‘Just open your mind, man! I would echo these sentiments. Some commenters object to being ‘talked down to’ – I guess that’s human – but I think the author/administrator have conscientiously avoided that, recognising that we are all at different stages on a personal journey of discovery. Gentle education with the occasional mild reproof helps us move forward. I have learned and benefited, but now must get back to the gardening. Thank you.

I’ll further agree. It’s weird how so many people get bent out of shape simply because the admin asks them to back up their assertions. If these people all really had proof or pictures or anything, they would provide the proof to back up the argument. Since the Black Knight does not exist, they cannot provide this proof. So, they keep on forcing the burden of proof on the admin to prove the Black Knight does not exist. This is the only way they can cover up the fact that they do not have a single iota of proof that it does exist. When that doesn’t work, they start accusing the admin of being rude and talking down to them. I have not seen this happen even once. The admin has showed remarkably better patience than the people insulting him deserve to be shown.
Good job on the article.

Thank you for posting such an interesting read (and the multitude of answer/question that follows).
While I am optimistic that life could evolve (transcend, etc so forth pick a word here) in other scenarios, I doubt that it would ever be in the same fashion as we view life. Most extra-terrestrial life (or reports of it) are 2 armed 2 legged etc so on. Its just a impressionism of what we know as life, just perverted.
The reason I say this, is because with this Black Knight fiasco, its stating the same thing. Something we know, something we can classify or identify as foreign yet holding a bit of normalcy to our expected views (a satellite). This to me is the biggest indicator of false information. If we can quantify it as being similar, then it is likely fabrication or wistful thinking.
Life/technology or any variations of outer planetary existence would not likely resemble anything that we have conception of in this day. Life may be gelatinous globs or lighter than air beings, living wisps, if you will. The evolutionary process of life would be intricately different as you can’t expect the happenstance two species in two atmospheres would evolve exactly or even similarly in construct. The odds of that are, well, astronomical.
The true loser in these scenarios is science. Because a) it can’t be actively pursued to verify without the crackpot infliction of mainstream science/astronomy snickering b) so much false information to sort through before real application could be suggested. It is a testament to “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing” and to add to that, false knowledge is a deadly thing with science being the body on the floor.
Again, I thank you for your well thought answers asking for proof rather than simply taking the “no way” approach. This shows an acceptance of information with verifiable proof, but lets have proof. You will never get a conviction without a smoking gun,,,

I do have a question about this BKS. Have read comments that say people have tuned in radio to it and listen to it. My question is this, since it is on radio and the frequency that that BKS broadcasts on is supposedly in the public domain…..here’s the question.
WHY HAS NOBODY PUBLISHED THE FREQUENCY THAT THIS SHIP IS SUPPOSEDLY ON?
I have radio reception equipment. Old, sure, but still works and i know how to tune it in to a channel, but nobody that i have found, and the articles i have read nobody but nobody gives a frequency number.

Dear Will, thanks for your questions. The only two radio phenomena that people claim were transmissions from an extraterrestrial probe near Earth are the signals Tesla claimed to have received and the long-delayed echos of the 1920s. You can read Tesla’s own words on his research in the article TALKING WITH PLANETS (link). Unfortunately he does not discuss his findings in any detail.
The full article on the long delayed echos is available for a fee from Nature’s website (link). The abstract states the wavelength was 31.4 m.
Having read our article, you will understand that there is nothing to listen in to!
Will · April 6, 2015 at 06:18
Thanks for the links.
Read them but could find nothing that says Tesla actually did communicate with anything (Tesla’s writing is dry) and if i read the article right he was hypothesizing on how somebody from earth might communicate with somebody on mars or another planet. iI also find it interesting that he was trying to use the earths magnetic fields as giant transmitters. Interesting possibilities but i have to wonder if this would cause compass and navigation aids to give false readings.
Second article you gave the link for (Sahara desert dry reading that one) sound like he was ahead of Marconi in the invention of the radio and sixty to seventy years ahead of the development of radio controlled craft. His problem was that he had no actual idea of what it was that he was trying to explain, but do find it interesting that he was describing radio controlled craft way back then.
Thanks for the links.

Hi, the quick answer is that the Black Knight satellite doesn’t exist!

Colin / Martina.
I would like to congratulate you on your patience and professionalism with all these crazy conspiracy theorists in the huge thread above. It is clear beyond any doubt that a series of unrelated facts have been stitched together to create this myth. You have tried and tried again to demonstrate this but the sad fact is that some people will believe what they want to believe and ignore anything that might challenge that. Keep up your patient debunking of the various ‘theories’ touted above. Science will prevail eventually !
Martina · January 6, 2015 at 11:55
Thank you for taking the time to read this article, and for your comment. Hopefully this article has put some of those myths and stories into context for others!

COMMENT DELETED (I’m sorry but I cannot allow comments purely to criticise religious views- ADMIN)
common sense · December 28, 2014 at 10:49
OK, this is so easy on all fronts. Quote from unknown to me, ufologist or ghosthunter, or whatever is as follows, “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence”. Let’s remove religion, first by saying god created everything, blah blah blah, well, let’s be realistic then, he wasn’t of this earth, nor was Satan or angels, so technically, ” scientifically saying”, they are extra terrestrials. Aliens never showed proof of their being here any more then angels (who mated with humans, still do) but some adamantly believe in UFO’s, even the Vatican had to admit that, since my proof was inevitable. Now ghosts, absence of evidence, but still believers, this irritates me. In Christianity, souls go to heaven or hell, that’s it. Purgatory, not witnessable by mortals, again need the angel/et genes to see this, in which case your not human. Or, two other possibilities exist, alien/angel thing is right or you’re seeing a version of something kind of like from the predator movie.
No matter the outcome, if you believe either, that goes against Christianity, so you’re more pagan then christian. Case in point, in US, Halloween, followed by all saints day. 12 days of Christmas is taken from 12 days of yule, which ironically a pine tree being on fire for that time, resembling Xmas tree lights, aka the new/old burning bush/tree. Proof? Look at the history of it all, been a lie, manipulation of events for someone else’s purpose.
So with that removed? What have we got left? Photos, astronauts who’ve publically stated they’ve seen non human stuff, videos, check out Neil, forbidden to say the truth, all of the missing videos they took, and the only way he could admit to the world without his entire family from disappearing, had to show up in the transformers movie. Disinformation is still worse then absence. Think with an open mind, as thinking freely is the only freedom we have left, at least in the states…
The only universe that we know of, countless have been theorized, is way too big for us, if not then why would god n angels n demons abandon us when we have the technology to decipher what they are but came to man when he still wiped his bottom with his bare hands and couldn’t appreciate the difference between enlightened beings with men? Besides, with the rate humans need glasses now, reduce population to ratio, how many people back then could see? Add that to reading/writing, added education obviously and you see the most informed/knowledgeable had/held and still hold the yoke over the masses. Nothing has changed. Besides, the book of genesis states, read any version, “let us create them in our image”…
One more thing about this black night, theories abound about Atlantis, very very advanced civilization wiped out, what if they put something up there? Roughly the time of creation, or right before the flood. Maybe that’s a good theory? Maybe the UFOs n stuff are our ancestors, why like 99% of all UFO sightings are by deep ocean locales, after the biblical flood, maybe the survivors felt it better under the ocean? More men have been on the moon then the bottom of the ocean, we’ve mapped mars better then our ocean floor.
Myths abound about civilizations under the ocean or ground, but UFOs are considered quacky yet native American beliefs about below ground entities or sky people are accepted as their religious beliefs, while majority of their stories are proving more then plausible, we still doubted believers of Troy! And, when that city was found, it wasn’t really touted as faith proved fact!!! Hushed by academia. History may not repeat, but it rhymes worse then a rap song.
Tom · November 29, 2014 at 11:14
Very interesting video of what looks like TBK, but surely if anyone was flying nearby the TBK, they would want to get a shot of it, and where is the proof that whatever it is floating beneath them actually came off the vehicle they are in. They certainly don’t seem too bothered if something that size had actually dropped off what they were flying in, and what repercussions it might have for them, which may have been very dangerous, more excited about getting a photo of whatever it was.
In this day and age it is only too easy to cobble anything together video wise, and make people believe whatever they want them to believe.

The only people that have the capacity to prove this Black Knight exists probably know it does but are afraid of the panic disclosure would bring to us mere mortals.
admin · November 19, 2014 at 14:39
You have read the article? There is no Black Knight.
if it were real why would the news cause panic?
Will · January 19, 2015 at 05:41
Why indeed? It’s not like people will panic over nothing. Has to be something to panic over….right?
How about HG Wells and Orson Wells, You know the the story of the martians invading earth. That was also later called the “The Night America Panicked”.
What people don’t understand or can’t pigeon hole causes them to worry.
I am still out on whether or not this BKS is real or not. I see pictures of something that looks like a ship. Is it a ship? Can’t say for sure. I Know it’s not a covering from the shuttle or the ISS. Shape doesn’t match up and that burned up already. So as you can see very good reason to keep it secret if it is real.
Religions of the world would go ballistic if they found out this was a ship, and suppose it did have an alien or two on board, god didn’t create just us? The nerve of him!!
Governments of the world have more then enough reason to keep silent about this and yes sticking their collective heads into the sand and saying it doesn’t exist is at this point and time the right thing to do. I don’t like it but think it’s a whole lot better then the wars that will be touched off it it turns out to be real. Most especially the war of who gets to it first.
Just think of the technology that might be on board the do-dads and gizmos and possibly the weapons. I too would like to see what it is but we are just to childlike to trust with something like that.
Personally i think the reason that it is in low Earth is so that we CAN”T get to it. To young we are.Sorry about the length.
admin · January 19, 2015 at 12:25
The only comment I have is that the degree of panic over the 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast has been grossly exaggerated. See

The Brooklings report
A report or perhaps a memorandum that was commissioned by Nasa.
…It basically states, although the report is not limited to. When Nasa has the ability to explore other planets within our Solar system, that there is a chance that we may find artifacts that are not from Earth, And if the public was to have this information that it could cause hysteria among those comunities who have or are creationist and believe in a higher power.
Of course the language of the report is hypothetical. However it is these type of reports that guide NASA.
admin · January 29, 2016 at 12:14
Dear Randall, thanks for your comment. The document Proposed Studies on the Implications of Peaceful Space Activities for Human Affairs (which people like to call “the Brookings Report”) can be read in full at this link and I urge you to do so. You will see that this is not some sinister conspiratorial document on covering up science, nor a policy document guiding NASA. The section on extra-terrestrial life is less than three pages out of more than 270. You do not seem to be quoting the document itself but rather someelse’s interpretation of it.
Randall · February 1, 2016 at 08:05
Thanks for the link, Although I have not seen the formatted report that you shared, I have seen and read some of it but not limited to the Extraterrestrial section within.
Yes, you are quite correct I could have ossified my language in a more specific way. And now realising that I created more hype to it than need be. I was serving from memory. I did however say that it was a hypothetical report and I was noncommittal to this being a conspiracy report or what have you. I may have been wrong in the way I presented it. However, You could say my generalized in my statement was correct but with some errors.
NASA and or the government have many, many documents that are similar to this one. Ideals are put into hypothetical scenarios to discover whatever problems may occur to discover their solution.
The conspiracy here – I feel is, whether or not citizens as individuals put any trust in their government.
Thanks, next time I’ll know to be more factual with qoutes.

Ivan · November 16, 2014 at 02:45
The more I consider this, the more I realize the BKS is nothing more than the “ark” . It did it’s job, got the DNA here and now orbits the Earth. It has nowhere else to be, and probably plenty of power to stay in orbit. We were “created” but there was no “God” involved. It is simply not possible for an un-caused intelligence to have existed prior to the universe unless the universe is just an experiment inside the “real” universe. Pure energy, on the other hand, can very certainly have ” always” existed. With an unlimited ( and certainly unknown ) amount of “time” there is no restriction on the number of patterns this energy could randomly arrange in, our existence is inevitable. We estimate the universe’s age at 13.x billion years. That’s just for this current configuration of energy. We have no way of knowing how many TRILLIONS of other forms this energy has ” tried” out, or what it will become when this existence ends. Guess what ? Infinity means this could all happen again ! Best part is, it could be EXACTLY the same ( we really wouldn’t know ) or, we could all exist again but with completely different lives. Way better than believing in a 900 year old an and his 7 crew members. Maybe if they were in suspended animation for 825 of them on their way here. An open mind can ponder what might have actually happened, while remembering it could be 100% wrong. ( I certainly could be wrong ! ) A closed mind decides on an answer that doesn’t require finding out the truth, and uses magic for the missing pieces. BKS is probably really there, and us ” commoners” will probably never know for sure.
Marko · October 28, 2014 at 22:32
Just an observation but you say the bks theory is made up of bits of information clumped together to prove its existence, but surely that’s all the space blanket theory is? Suppose the space blanket floating about up there AND an unknown satellite ? And surely if it was genuinely believed that it had come from a civilisation superior to ours then the U.S, Russia, China, the UK would be busting there balls the get there hands on it? I mean that could be holding some goodies for the lucky government that got there mitts on that!
I guess I’m playing devils advocate here a bit as I’m still unsure what to believe but it is nice to read a well balanced argument against its existence. I’m off to read some crackpot websites for its existence now to learn that it’s hitler in his time machine…
David · October 27, 2014 at 07:08

Very facinatingf stuff. I have enjoyed Astronotes blog for over two years and continue to do so, and I have tried to contact the administration to link your RSS feed to an app. Even though I do not concur with some of your articles. Sometimes I feel the authors are wanting. However, most off your points are actually valid and are very easy to cross reference. But in this case here – I am not saying it is a 13,000 yr old satellite, but your reasoning in this case can not be cross referenced to anything that would be considered valid. The author in this case is wanting. To say Tesla may not have heard anything at all is complete conjecture..unless the author was able to cross reference Tesla’s actual work. In my mind it would have been easier for the author to simply state – It was swamp gas. And of course no one, not even archaeologist can actually say that any ancient text written by ancient civilizations can be deemed as a truth. It is up to whomever is translating the text and/or the listener to decide weather this is a myth or truth. A simple example being – The King who went to war and slayed a thousand men in an afternoon with his bare hands. You can choose to believe in this story or perhaps that King lied to bolster his own standing and to create fear. Thanking you for (the most part) bring an intellectual understanding of space. ….PS..I will not take away from your post by mentioning the name of the app. If you do find the time. Pls email me, for I seek permission for the continuation of your feed in my app.

My original comment was in addressed to Moon Conspiracy. Richard C. Hoagland who was sitting beside Walter Cronkite (forgive the misspelling) when Niel Armstrong stepped on the moon for The first time is not a moon landing denier, because he was next to Walter when he was addressing America, However he has his own conspiracies when it comes to Nasa, archaeologist and Mars (He was laughed at by Nasa and the scientific community when he presented his paper -along with Mike Bars on the tidal bores of Mars – some twenty yes ago. We now know that his assumptions and perhaps his intelligent investigations was correct). Point being..Just because somebody writes about or supports conspiracies does not mean that they should lose credibility. I am not personally a moon landing denier. I do however question the original footage. That does not mean that I am saying No to the landing.

I am not that brilliant and have not read many books or websites. I read this url coz somebody shared about the Black Knight in my facebook.
So for people don’t believe as well as believe:
If “Seeing is believing” then:
You would not breathe the air as you do not see air and you need only Oxygen from the air which you lungs does it.
The only “God” or “Gods” rather, would be the politicians and terrorists who control the daily life of a normal man.
Nobody has seen the “God” or “Aliens” or “Air” or “Sound” in this world – if I say they do not exist, few may claim they have, for the first 2 and we call them hoax / fraud / mad and few may claim they have, for the remaining 2 and we call them scientist or believer of science.
So what we are looking for is the proof of existence, even for your own belief.
If you cant even imagine what could happen or what could have happened, what is the point we are having a sense of thinking and imagination which no other life in the earth has.
Open up your minds for the future and the past

This was rediscovered when the soviets launched the 1st 20th century satellite in 1957, the soviet union called the President of the United States and asked if it was Our satellite, we responded we thought it was yours. What everyone is looking at is a real satellite from the old world, probably the one they used to tell Noa that there was no rain and they had their proof. Well it rained and this is just one of the left over items being rediscovered in this time. 6000 years old and still a ticking must be made by timex. Would be interesting if one of shuttle missions could have captured it and brought it down, but now we will never know, because of this so called failure of a president we now no longer have shuttle missions, Needed the savings to pay for his many many many vacations so now we is Moving forward ole ya.
admin · October 22, 2014 at 08:49
Fascinating, can you prove any of this?
Ivan · October 17, 2014 at 16:25
Wow, what an interesting and long lived discussion. I read every comment. I personally believe in the existence of the BKS but I have zero proof. It is nieve, however, to think that the governments of the world do not include as part of their mandate, deliberate disinformation to the public. Paying off or coercing any amateur astronomer, who might have spotted this object, is neither unlikely nor unprecedented. Far more goes on in this world than terrorism, whether a company has religious beliefs (?), What will happen if the militias ever organize and attempt a coup, who has “divine rights” to a scrap of land and why certain people need so badly for it to be in the “right hands” or just what people think their going to use their gold for if the economy collapses. ( offer me a chunk of metal for my crop of food and your likely to get beat with it.) All the real answers are in space. All of them.
In that spirit, I would like to offer some of my opinions. ( and they are opinions) 1) the worlds’ governments are well aware that there is no God. They also know the huge amount of problems exposing such a thing would cause. The also know the disadvantages of losing the type of control superstition allows for. They know religion is essentially dead but they have to wait for it to disappear as a result of knowledge and education before they spoon feed us reality. The biggest threat to humanity is the dumbing down of the science class with silly nonsense, but there is a big push to stay in the nice safe box of denial. 2) They know our true origins. We DID evolve to a certain point and then we WERE modified by outside influences to acheive our unexplained advanced state. We are clearly not finished as our species has obvious flaws which continue to need upgrading. In short, we evolved, are evolving and we were created. Just not the way people think. 3) Egypt and Egyptian history ( or rather pre- Egyptian history) is the only time period where the truth about what happened thousands of years ago was recorded. Many other cultures were aware, but oral transmission is the WORST way to ensure accurate passage of historical fact. A thirty word statement can’t pass across a room of 50 people unchanged, thousands of years is unthinkable. Zawi Hawass is one of the very few who know where all the records are, what they say and how the Great Pyramid actually works. It is no wonder he is being harboured safely in the US, now that the Middle East is in such turmoil. Our government can ill afford him as a casualty. ( Side note, the Egyptians did not build the pyramids at Giza. You naysayers can put up or shut up.
You have 20 years, the time claimed for their building. Use all the tech you want, but you must quarry 2 ton blocks, transport them the required distance and assemble all 2.3 million of them exactly the way they are, including shafts, rooms, coffers etc. We want the big one, no models, miniatures or scaled down tricks. It needs to be built with the same accuracy, alignment, and dimensions. You’re off the hook for location, as the prime site seems to be taken. Oh, yeah, it has to work too. Good luck with that.)
I digress.4) Whether there were Giants on Earth at one time is largely irrelevant. There probably were. They are gone now, presumably wiped out by Homosapiens. They were probably jerks. If there is some great cover up it is likely for the sole reason of protecting the gen pop from creationists claiming “Angels and teenage girls, we were right ! ” they were simply another species that evolved but didn’t make the cut. Nuff said.
I have other opinions about UFOs, ghosts and physic powers, ect. which fit properly in my hypothesis, but are largely unimportant overall. I don’t specifically subscribe to any or all of them.
Finally, with regards to bring BKS to Earth, we don’t need to. We can study it just fine where it is. Why else do you think we pay Russia $71 million dollars for each astronaut we send to ISS ? To do experiments on growing plants in zero G ? Ha,Ha ! Few people have skills worth that kind of scratch so it better be for something extraordinary, I’m sure. Also, assuming we haven’t been “warned off” and no aliens are hanging around, suppose we brought it home and realized it was vitally important to put it back ? How would we accomplish lifting it back into orbit ? No, I think it should stay right where it is.
Remember that the best way to hide the truth is to ridicule, deny and claim conspiracy theory because this is exactly how we debunk lies. Do your own research, check your facts, READ LIBRARY BOOKS! ( the older the better ) buy a freaking telescope… A good one that you can actually see things with.
I look forward to comments or refutations. I have thick skin and realize attacks come when something rings true so keep that in mind when you call me stupid. Thanks!

If the government says it’s a spy satellite but evidence of this craft existed before satellites were ever launched, I’m willing to bet that this is just another lie in a massive list of government lies over the last hundred years. They NEVER tell the truth. They will never admit an alien satellite is orbiting the planet let alone what really happened to the IRS’s and the EPAs hard drives and why they aren’t searching the servers where all of the data is really located.

The black Knicht is in fact the remnants of one of the Discoverer V satellites , other wise known as KH-5 Argon.
This is the KH5 Argon, the photos of the black knight clearly show this space craft with the camera capsule on the front not totally disengaged, looks like it has taken a battering while it’s been up there.
It really isn’t difficult to get to the bottom of things like this, you just need to wade through all the nonsense and find some facts rather than believe the first thing you read.

You stated you could not discover the origin of the the name “Black Knight”. Well I can help with that little part of the mystery anyway. When the object was first detected someone put forth the theory it might be one of Brittians test vehicles until the idea was proven impossible. But the code name of the afore mentioned Balistic Missile stuck. The purpose of the Black Knight test rocket was to study the effects of when a vehicle re-enters the atmosphere at high-speed. Originally, this was to design a reentry vehicle for the Warhead from Blue Streak project. The program ended up broadening out into a much wider research area. Particularly after the Blue Streak part was canceled. The contract for the “Black Knight” rocket was given to Saunders,Roe a company based at Cowes on the Isle Of wight in the middle of 1955.

… and by the way, I have a serious doubt: The Admin who’s commenting in this article is Mrs. Martina Redpath, Mr. Collin Johnston, both or none?
admin · June 23, 2014 at 16:08
Hi, the best reference I have for Tesla’s 1899 received signals is the paper “Nikola Tesla and the planetary radio signals” by Corum and Corum, you can find it at this link.
The LDEs were first reported in a paper “Short wave echos and the aurora borealis” by van der Pol published in Nature in 1929.
The Administrator of this site is currently me, Colin Johnston. Martina signs her comment with her own name.

… and I’m totally with Robyn. Well… not concerning the most of the comments.

Dear Colin Johnston,
I’m noticing the obvious: that you spend tons of time answering people’s whims which obviously don’t give a damn about the pursuit of what rational people call clarification. I’m saying this not only because I’ve done the same mistake, but because nowadays there’s this cultural apology of being politically correct, although politics aren’t that correct but they act as if they were.
Like forcing people in a ethereal sort of religious psycho inverted manipulative realm, as an inhibited Robocop by its main sacred directives, not to be able to filter certain behaviors as if every behavior was religiously untouchable and part of a cosmic net of divine and protected species of behaviors… to the absurd that even you as a host, have to swallow the penitence of being disrespected by the other’s disrespectful behaviors, and continuously as a Dear Parent, with 1000 credits in heaven, persist in answering, clarifying, and in a certain way guiding the most unpleasant and spoiled brat of brats.
This is an outburst of mine, do not allow others to damage your “house” specially when you were a good host. Those are your rules and the behaviors should be in accordance to them.
John Mc.Upyoursenstein · June 12, 2014 at 06:19
This is but my one and only comment. So I don’t require feedback, but the author did an adequate job at addressing certain points in the “story” but the article is flawed with alot of bias. And also the tone of the admin replying to comments is rather condescending and hippocritical. These people have come to this subject to do one of three things… Find the truth, fighting boredom, or trolling…
They most certainly didn’t come here to be talked down to.
Bright & MorningStar · June 5, 2014 at 00:27
Do you, sir Admin (if that is your real name?) Do you have sworn affidavits with video records and absolute scientific proof that everything you state in your article is the exact truth of the facts as reported to have happened in your article? do you have a degree in every possible area of science that might be used to analyze and measure this phenomenon? If so, have you corroborated any of the data you’re proposing to be the truth of the facts of this case?
in accepting the main stream accepted theory of the scientific community that life evolved the way they said it did carries the obvious implication that it should happen again &, many times at that.
y’all taking issue with the a suggested age of thirteen thousand years like that number is vast it wouldnt fit in the 14 trillion year old observable universe and, look at all the time energy resources and technology we devote to tracking animals here on earth out of plain curiosity……..
admin · June 5, 2014 at 20:31
My answers are: sorry but I don’t know what you are asking, no and no. I am confident that Martina has thoroughly researched her article.
Change “should” to “could” and I will totally agree.
I don’t really get your point here, but note that the Universe appears to be less than 14 billion years old, and as I have said before the “13 000 year old” idea comes solely from Duncan Lunan’s interpretation of the 1920s long delayed echos. He believed that had decoded these as a map of the constellation Boötes as it would have appeared 13 000 years ago and that the LDE were transmitted by a probe from a star in Boötes. He has subsequently abandoned this proposal (see his comments to this article) but this dating keeps being parroted around the internet.

What is your problem asking the admin to provide proof that the Black Knight doesn’t exist? That’s not how burden of proof works.
The people who claim the Black Knight exists have the burden of proof. They have not met that burden.
It is a fallacy to assume that because someone cannot prove something does not exist, that it exists. That’s complete nonsense. By that rationale, anything that we cannot prove doesn’t exist in fact exists.
For example, I cannot prove that leprechauns do not exist. That doesn’t mean they do.

UMM HI THERE. There are NASA pictures of a metallic (not thermal/insulation blanket-looking WHATSOEVER), jagged, machine-like object hovering in almost-polar orbit.
USE YOUR EYES. the fact NASA have taken down the pictures before only to put SOME back up, to me spells a little trick that it’s either some alien tech or some high-tech/military technology. They probably decided to re-post the pictures and keep them in plain sight so they could study what people would do when exposed to pictures of potentially extra-terrestrial/top secret military tech, and how people would respond or react….of COURSE they would do some sort of experiments like this. And i bet coming to sites like this and looking at points idiots like you make about it being a blanket or casing makes them cackle.
So to reiterate, the existance of this object is NOT in question. there are multiple pictures of it. what has happened SINCE those pictures is what is in question here. the complete and utter dis-information out there should be proof enough that the truth is not known or told to us. As to what the truth ACTUALLY is, who the hell knows?
Nonetheless, we know through sheer common sense that is not a ‘thermal/insulation’ blanket or any sort of ‘casing’, looking at the photos from different angles. Any implications that it is, is simply an insult to people’s intelligence.
admin · July 22, 2015 at 07:50
Dear Throwaway, please have a look at this presentation on the photos from STS-88 (link) and see if you still think “There are NASA pictures of a metallic (not thermal/insulation blanket-looking WHATSOEVER), jagged, machine-like object hovering in almost-polar orbit.”

I’m sorry but you need to reread the article, there is nothing to look at more closely.
Andy man · May 13, 2014 at 13:29
Well I am not really arguing that this object is 13000 years old craft or satellite. The only way I would know or you for that matter is if we – me and you went up there and inspected it ourselves. In any other case you have to believe what somebody says or interpret what you see on the picture. Makes no difference for ma one way or the other. For one thing people know for a fact that governments are involved in disinformation. You come across as someone of them or somebody that keeps saying “I don’t wan to believe” and that is fine too. Good thing that peolpe have this internet a powerfull tool. Everything goes here including truth we can chose info from all the propaganda.Media on the other hand is just full of lying parasites. We on earth on the other hand are a proof of concept. Latest findings prooved of plenty of water in the universe so plenty chances of other life and not suprisingly top nasa scientists say its just a mater of time when we find other life or indeed make a contact “officially”.

I want to believe the BKS. But let’s say.. They’re hostile.. And been spying for us for a long time. Link the BKS with all the ‘alien contact’. The abductions, etc, etc.
(I have removed the next 306 words as they were copied and pasted from the Wikipedia page on satellites. Please do not do this again.- ADMIN)
My conclusion is it could be any type of satellite, or even a space station. Maybe it has been transmitting orders to the operators on the ground.. Who knows? And who says us humans can understand them? One language we do share is mathematics, but a alien language? (C,mon, humans aint that bright..) I say let’s not bow our heads so fast to a conclusion that not has been in fully contact with this (alien?) artificial craft or satellite.

Andy man · May 10, 2014 at 00:44
Well well.Dear debunkers. All of you. Here is your proof. It is ancient Summerian cuneiform writing on clay cylinders and tablets. There u can hold it in your hand something that is undesputedly thousands of years old. Descrybing in good details Anunaki interacting with us, their technology, solar system, mining and lots more. In southern Africa modern day scientists found and confirmed ancient mining shafts with dating corresponding with summerian writings. In South America in abandoned thousands of years ago high platou ancient ruins scientists have found a large summerian bovl/platter with summerian cuneiform writings. Proof of ancient times peoples having good travel technology again collaborated in summerian clay writings. Zacharia Sitchin may be wrong on something but other people read similar things from those damned clay cylinders. Try and debunk existance of hundreds of ancient summerian writings. This can not be debunked. Enjoy. I did. The truth is we regular people have been allways manipulated since our begining.
admin · May 12, 2014 at 11:06
Dear Andy, I know that there are dozens of tablets with records of accurate observations by Sumerian astronomers dating to 1000BC or so but none discuss the visitations you talk about.
Unless you can show evidence no one should accept your assertion that Sumerian artefacts have been found in South Africa of South America.
From I have read by archeologists and scholars of ancient languages Zacharia Sitchen was wrong about everything he claimed!
Andy man · May 12, 2014 at 15:47
Fuente magna – a Summerian bowl found in Bolivia is a fact. As well that it is thousands of years old. Area abandoned very long ago at time when modern man had no means of distant travels let alone cross the ocean. All these are accepted facts by todays scollars.
Summerians were first on earth to develop a cyvilisation pre-dating Egipt or anything on earth by a few thousends of years according to modern scollars. There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of clay cylinders and tablets in existence still to this day, also a fact. Other scollars have translated their writings very similar to Sitchin, its available on the net. Please search Summerian text translation. I have read other people translations about their people affairs and interactions with their “Gods” Anunaki. Strange but it was very similar to what Sitchin translated and also strange it did not include any mention of technology. Most interesting are translation regarding our solar system descrybing things un-observable from earth, they knew things that they couldn’t see from earth! At time a man on earth was very primitive!
In south Africa are verified ancient mining shafts and metal smelting sign that are tens of thousands years old,pre-dating any known civ.on earth. Please read up on it. No dispute here among modern researchrs aither. In near those ancient mining sites modern man was very successful in finding metals for himself.
There is also hard evidence of technology far beyond our own, objects removed from people by surgeons and analyzed onder microscope later on. There is a specialist surgeon for this, can’t remember his name, one item turned out to be a nano technology that was actually moving around and running away from his procedure, thats if you believe this doc. Another very interesting thing is that many old serviceman starting to talk what they saw regarding ufo, other beings, their tech, contact, lots more when they are on their death bed or when they are so old and not afraid of the government. They all were threatened to keep quiet-sounds sinister to me already. I’m talking here mainly military and aviation/space personel or special forces. Canadian ex-minister of defence did speak-please search it.
Modern bible is the smallest ever as far as content, the more back you go the more content there is. This is especially true to old testament. In Summerian texts there is a mirror reflection of old testament but there it is in original form which is about 80-90 percent more content than what we have now. Enoch himself had 360 books given to his son from those books humanity was supposed to be taught. there was all there is needed for people to know. Info was dictated by Anunaki/Jehova God but actually his archangel to Enoch personally and Enoch wrote down those books himself. Nobady desputing Enoch existence or his sons. From the beginning of times humans were exploited..Read summerian texts,Egiptian,Maya,Hindu,Greek,Roman times all slavery… Dark ages middle ages feudalism, all bad times for the regular people. Now we have best so far but still we are in modern time slavery to financial institutions and governments. Everybody in debt to their ears-must work to pay for it. Taxes are huge, I’m asking from years pay what is total tax and what is in your pocket? We work for ourselves approximately only half year the other is slery. This is reason for the secrecy-if truth comes out they fear they couldn’t milk the people.
(I have added some paragraph breaks to make this text easier to read, content is otherwise unchanged- ADMIN)

We are not archeologists here so this is really outside our field of knowledge. However do you not smell a rat when you look at the sites you linked to? Do you really believe stone structures like the wall in the picture on the first you linked to could stand for 160 000 or even 75 000 years? Have you thought about the explanation of how they came up with these dates based on the constellation of Orion? Does this seem believable? The Earth’s axis precesses in 26 000 years so how can they estimate an older date than this?
Please, please think more critically.
admin · May 15, 2014 at 10:11
I have not seen anything by historians or archeologists saying that this is genuine evidence of ancient Sumerian contact with South America. Are you sure it is not a hoax?
There are indeed sites offering translations of Sumerian records, how do you explain how only Sitchin (and his imitators) can produce science fiction style stories of aliens from them?
This is completely wrong. The Sumerians had some excellent naked eye observers but they believed the Earth was flat and knew only of the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn as lights in the sky. They had no concept of planets as other worlds.
I’m very sorry to see you falling for the stories of cranks and frauds here.
As for your religious and social opinions, I am afraid I cannot comment on them.

Admin, can you provide the sources that contradicted Sitchen’s translations? Also can you give evidence from these sources that are more than just another speculative counter theory?
From what I understand, much of orthodox scientists who are against the ET hypotheses usually only present counter theories based as much on speculative evidence as opposed to the circumstantial evidences presented by the ET proponents.
Doesn’t scientists rely more so on evidence as opposed to proof? If not then this suggests scientific absolutism that has no room for revisions when what was previously considered to be scientifically valid is eventually discarded or revised.

Hi Highlanderprime, I think it’s more up to you to prove Sitchen is correct than me to prove him wrong!

LOL. OK. So it’s fine for science/debunkers to just say things along the lines of ‘i don’t have to prove anything’ and to provide anonymous ‘linguistic experts’ (fkn lol at that one) that directly contradicts said speculative theory…furthermore, since when does something have to be accepted by mainstream understanding to make it credible?
you’re a populist shill, pandering to sheeple; your website sucks and looks only to de-credit speculative theories instead of actually genuinely, objectively seeking to understand and reconcile the theory with fact or even contemplate it as fact.
good day to you, and this pathetic site.
admin · July 22, 2015 at 07:45
Dear ThrowAway, thanks for your comments. I assume they mean that you don’t have any evidence to prove the Black Knight satellite exists.
ThrowAway · July 23, 2015 at 04:39
really mate, the best and only evidence i find believeable of your arguments is a picture from a different, better article on the matter:
(bottom of article)
even this to me is not proof and circumstantial at beast; in fact let me put it this way: if any conspiracy theorist posted evidence to the equivalence of this picture you would isntantly dismiss it as not enough. I honestly implore you to find actual evidence that backs up your arguments. Posting anonymous soursce is not that. Burden of proof is indeed on NASA and in essence you, becuase you are the ones claiming that it ISNT something that it blatantly appears to be.
Like i said, i personally think it’s more to do with high grade military tech. some sort of ET object is not out of the question. But firm proof of your argument neither exists nor should be support as it’s circumstnatial at best and makes swooping assumptions, particularly that pdf you linked me to in the other post.
admin · July 23, 2015 at 08:33
Hi Throwaway, I’m glad the image at the site you linked to agrees that the STS-88 images show the lost thermal blanket.
I think you need to read Martina’s article again, there is no evidence that a selection of observations (Tesla’s report, the LDEs, rumours of satellites before Sputnik, the Corona debris) are connected, never mind associated with something called the Black Knight. We don’t need to prove there is no Black Knight, it is up to its believers to prove that it does exist.
ThrowAway · July 24, 2015 at 05:27
lol you really are just plain condescending and ultimately come across as laughable when you are faced with conclusions that you dont like or cant explain, to which you then literally stawman the crap out of your opponent’s position.
case in point, answering none of my questions in the other post, nor providing your logical conclusions; instead, coming in this post and – like a smart ass – implying that i should accept some MS Paint picture that shows SOME similarities to the Black Knight NASA photos. what a crackpot.
-how do you explain the stereoscopic camera/parralex calculations of pictures from moon landings, that using basic equations shows that the distance of objects in moon photos is actually within ~150-300m when it should be 1500m (from memory)?
-bubbles in space. scuba divers evident in footage in space. there is footage of this on many sites.
-how do you deny in the last 5-15 years or so, greater quality footage and things like this (youtube search): orb splitting ufos, cloud cloak ufo, and countless other visibly-plausible ufo videos…SO many out there. what exactly is your threshold for ufo’s being ”credible”…again, as is an often occuring theme in your articles, just because a notion is not mainstream does not make it uncredible. pandering to the masses of sheeple yet again, tssk tssk.
By the way, burden of proof is most definitely on you now. those are blatantly UFO’s so it is now up to you to literally give a logical explanaiton, with FACTS, as to othewise.
admin · July 24, 2015 at 08:36
Dear Throwaway, firstly may ask that you stop referring to other readers of this blog as “sheeple”.Secondly, you left your questions on the 8 Myths About Neil Armstrong’s Flight to the Moon post in a response to a comment by “Lunar-MythBuster”. I assumed you wanted to pose your questions to Lunar-MythBuster not me.
To try to answer your questions I need to know what you are referring to. Please can you give a single link with
and a single link showing
I have neither the time nor inclination to scour YouTube for UFO videos. How about you supply a link to the single best piece best of evidence for visiting alien spaceships that you know of and I will look at it.
You are the one making the claim, not me, so the burden of proof is clearly on you!
ThrowAway · July 28, 2015 at 04:40
Apollo parralax calculations:
General NASA f%$#ckery, fakery and inconsistencies, evidence of bubbles in space, lighting inconsistency, scuba divers in hatch, green screen use, wires use, zero-g plane use, botched live interviews, astronaught having no idea about what is around the place she has been living on in isolation for months….and more.
note the contradicting russian footage and explanations compared to NASA’s..interesting. I have increasing doubts as to whether NASA is full of it, or not. Their disinformation and ommissions are often far more interesting than the ‘information’ they often provide to the public…could just be a case of strong cognitive dissonance preventing people from realistically, objectively considering the truth even though these inconsistencies are right before our eyes.
Compelling pieces of modern UFO footage:
(you should look at some Other crow777 video streams too, interesting stuff he finds).
admin · July 29, 2015 at 08:49
Dear Throwaway, thanks for the link to the parallax article which I will study. Thank you also for the many links to You Tube videos. You said one of them showed “divers” in space, please identify which one this was and give me a time code for when the “divers” appear.
Can you also tell which one of these videos is the best evidence to prove alien spaceships exist in your opinion? I hope you will understand that I cannot spend my day reviewing videos for you.
I am rejecting all future comments which are just lists of links to videos and is this not a forum to promote videos.
ThrowAway · July 30, 2015 at 02:21
haha, a scientist that refuses to assess all the evidence, let alone objectively in many cases…brilliant!! I do understand you can’t spend your time doing so, but by not spending your time doing so you’re preventing yourself from seeing all angles and being able to read between the lines.
by the way, yes it is extremely low quality footage – don’t blame conspiracy/speculative theorists though, perhaps blame the $18b agency that can’t afford to take high quality footage properly, ever it seems. Like i said in a previous posts, the obvious and easy things NASA could show to us or do to completely put to rest any popular conspiracy theories, they dont. what they show or omit form the public is what gives me an impression, after ‘reading between the lines’ that they either dont show us what the reality is or show us only partial reality. A further thought is, the fact that UFO conspiracies are so popular, for me, is because i can feel and see with evidence that there is more to the story than we are told. it makes me think that this is why it is truly so important to find irrefutable evidence of ETI, because to know that our own government/leaders in position of power could withold such information from the public would be a distinctively gross reflection on humanity. All the more reason to seek ETI and expand on our level of consciousness and the corrupt, opaque nature of existing mainstream knowledge. Something is just not right.
Seeing as you are so self-time restricted (i.e. spending time reviewing in full whatever evidence you feel like on the subject matter, but not evidence others present in rebuttal) the first and third UFO links are by far the shortest and clearest. The first link in particular, especially when viewed in 1080p, blatantly looks like some sort of cloud-cloaked, manouvering object, with flashes or reflections of light in very strange ways. The third link is also, visually, quite spectacular and extra-ordinary.
admin · July 30, 2015 at 12:31
Dear Throwaway, the “diver” reported in the commentary to the video you link to is clearly the second astronaut (EVAs are conducted in pairs). I cannot see the object the commentary describes as a SCUBA tank. I requested the best evidence you had of a “diver” in space, and the video does not prove your claim . Also do you understand that this low quality video did not come directly from NASA? It has clearly been broadcast during a TV news show, someone filmed the screen (reducing the clarity) then reduced the size of the image before compressing for posting it on the internet. NASA was not responsible for degrading this image.
I cannot identify the object in the video by Garcia but that does not automatically mean it is an alien spaceship, if I had to guess I would say it could be an inflated plastic bag or bags. It is clearly descending behind the houses, why did the videographer apparently not attempt to go to see where it went? I cannot see how you believe this is the best evidence of alien visitation.
I have yet to read the lunar parallax study document, but when I do will let you know what I think.
Please remember you are commenting in a forum to discuss our Black Knight article, not in a general forum for you to promote your beliefs. In the interest of sustaining a dialogue I have given you considerable latitude to explain your views, please do not abuse this privilege.
ThrowAway · July 30, 2015 at 03:19
Sorry, but here’s another compelling, short UFO clip. these are all over youtube. not hard to find at all. no logical explanation for any of these, nothing that you could provide solid evidence of it being anything other than a UFO, anyway:
In fact, there’s quite a few compelling vids from Robert Birmingham’s channel, as one example. All in HD. you seem to have this notion in your head of 1950s-1990’s footage of UFO’s being somehow the defining, representative, discreditable reality of UFOs – but it isn’t. It exists and it is in HD, and you can’t explain most of it by conventional means or lack of clarity like you can in older footage. time to expand your horizons a bit mate, me thinks.

You debunk the black knight, well how about the fake moon landings? And yes, they’re fake. The fact that it’s a hassle to get to the space station now nearly 50 years later says everything. Only the truly ignorant say otherwise – and thank the heavens as the saying goes that 90% of people can barely think for themselves but believe everything the government tells them.
Or the fact that most religions are nothing more than the parroting of previous religions and legends that existed CENTURIES before Jews, Catholics, etc., were even a thought… hence not real. I mean most of Christianity is nothing more than a mockery of Celtic / Germanic legends, Viking beliefs, and other religions for example.
As for this, well the possibility of the black knight has been around for a while.
There is the glaring fact that almost ALL Egyptian pyramids happen to be aligned in some particular way with the solar system. Most of the “windows”, where the soul is supposed to escape, face a particular star – from Leo to Orion’s Belt to Taurus. Are you going to tell me people who made pyramids – and these structures are ALL OVER THE WORLD – with technology that was at best very very primitive compared to modern society made these pyramids by themselves. Particularly when modern society can barely construct a building that won’t collapse 50 years later with our “superior” methods… don’t make me laugh.
Gods I love debunkers – you really don’t think.
For one – how does society go from barely scratching out a living to suddenly prospering like crazy in ancient Iraq? Before the Sumerian era we were living like barbarians in very sense of the word and then suddenly we have a written language, we have laws and taxes, farming, mills, etc. and etc. The change then due to the Ubaidians is UNLIKE anything that has EVER been seen in human history since. Never. EVER. Has the advancement in society and technology made such a 180 degree change from what was there previously…
And no, in the last 50 years humans have barely advanced [we make tiny improvements on insignificant things, like the millions of new cars which have one tiny feature that the previous year model didn’t… pathetic] particularly when one views what investigations and technological exploration was happening during WWI and WWII and during the Cold War – we lost countless interesting cars and planes after that era that had they been pursued may have made the 1950s Popular Mechanics for Kids idea of flying cars possible NOW.
Just because the insects – humans – can’t do it doesn’t mean another species hasn’t made interstellar space travel possible.
The black knight photos – which NASA is deleting where they can find them on their website mind you – shows a large piece of probable machinery. It’s not an asteroid or part of a comet because it has STOPPED right within the proper gravitionial pull of the earth to remain with our planet instead of being thrown aside or crash landing. It’s virtually impossible for a piece of space junk to do the same…
So mister debunker, please explain. I welcome your “insight”.
admin · May 7, 2014 at 09:04
Dear James, there are whole libraries of books on world history, ancient civilizations and their engineering, how technology advances, science and so on. Colleges and universities run courses to introduce these subjects. Perhaps you should take advantage of these kind of resources to learn about the things that interest you so much. If you do you will find it an enormously rewarding experience and I suspect you will discover that the world is not as mysterious as you think it is.
James · May 8, 2014 at 15:36
admin – you are a riot. Unlike the other nobodies that haven’t a clue what you’re talking about or have the brain power to rebuke what you’re saying I do.
And when I say fact, you turn around and say visit other websites. How funny.
When you become a REAL debunker and not just someone rambling to hear themselves – you must be the life of the party, always right never wrong… I wonder if you have friends in real life – then I’ll be interested.
But as it is, your debunking is more BS than the possible alien spacecraft.
James · May 8, 2014 at 15:38
Oh and by the way, most universities and colleges make estimates. Most of them widely acknowledge that they can’t understand how technology was at that stage – I mean 1700s and earlier we had basic robots – back then when we can barely achieve the means now.
Look at history before you yip, I do have a masters in it.
G-man912 · May 11, 2014 at 07:50
James, I think you should read both your own comments and the response of Admin with a genuinely open mind; it is quite clear that you offer no substantive basis for any of your assertions – so your mocking and condescension simply defeats any credibility you might have.
Admin suggests you refer to a wealth of scholarly literature and advocates genuine study in educational institutions of the very subjects you claim to have such certain knowledge of – and yet you attempt to fob that invitation off with the assertion that Admin “…Turns around and says visit other websites”: This is quite demonstrably not the case.
Please, in support of your assertions, provide a documented or corroborated basis or set of references to support and vindicate your argument. Without this, your comments are no more than “I say it is so, therefore it IS so…”
Your assertion that the rate of technological process has not been significant in the last decades is so wildly inaccurate that it reflects very poorly on your overall credibility (Again): Communications, Materials Sciences, Biomedical technology – among many more areas – have made quantum leaps in the decades since the two world wars….
And please, show or tell us precisely how the Black Knight photos “Show a large piece of probable machinery”; how large? What is your evidence for stating how large? What shows you that it is ‘probable machinery’? Which photos do you find most convincing?
Please respond to this – as I am entirely open to being convinced if you can do so with substantive information….

the moon landing was not a fake, all scientists who use the equement that was put on the moon so scientists can measure distances have to aim there signals at the moon so they can get there readings, ask the people who use it.they will tell you we did go to the moon.
ricky · April 16, 2014 at 15:36
Trying to prove a point on a website is pointless because there will always be two sides or more and you can’t convince someone of something if you aren’t open to the possibility that you could be wrong as well. You talk about evidence and no proof and stuff but both sides have things they can claim as “proof” and both sides have things that can supposedly “debunk” the other so what is the point? How about we al be honest and say that none of us truly knows anything AT ALL and we are all just curious to find what else is out there. Not one person can say they have a definitive answer and if someone does claim that then they are lying because you will never know something for sure especially if all your evidence comes from other sources and people that are long gone and you have not witnessed anything yourself. Instead try to keep an open mind about everything and stop being so narrow minded just because you feel like your right so you have to prove everyone else wrong.
admin · April 17, 2014 at 12:40
Dear Ricky, I am very open to the idea that I could be wrong. Accepting new evidence and adopting new theories in response is central to science.
What is so frustrating about this story and most alien encounter stories is that there are lots of strong beliefs without any evidence to back them up.
That is a depressing and incorrect view. Humans have discovered so much about the Universe, yet you seem to want to deny this.
However I do agree with the statement above.
It does seem that it is you who isn’t open to the possibility that you are wrong.
There is no doubt at all that there is no Black Knight satellite, if you want to prove me wrong bring me the evidence.
Ruan · May 14, 2014 at 05:18
Again very one sided from admin. You say that it is nothing just a blanket. Again prove to me how a blanket will maintain low earth orbit? This blanket story does not hold up. If it was silver and folded some angles will reflect others not depending on the light source. The video of the blanket is fine and i can accept the blanket must have already lost most of it momemtum and fallen back to earth burning up in the atmosphere. the picture presented to us taken in scale from how far it is and the pictures taken also cant be a blanket. The blanket lost by the spaceship if folded up would not in a million years be as large as it is in the pictures sorry.
admin · November 5, 2014 at 20:29
Dear Ruan, you really need to read STS-88 and Black Knight (at http://www.jamesoberg.com/sts88_and-black-knight.pdf ). He forensically takes this story apart. The photographed object is the lost blanket.

Well, the story above is a classic example of how to write a de-bunker article. The author completely explained away every evidence of observation from professional astronauts, even countering what they said. And diverted the readers attention to “real Black Knight” objects of Earth. Look at the use of certain words to make the evidence of professionals sound silly without offering a logical alternative reason that the object isn’t an old satellite not from Earth. Carefully screen everything you read. Remember, the powers that were still want us in the dark about the truth of advanced technology they have been keeping from us and the things going on in space through out our solar system that they do not want us to know about. Namaste.
admin · March 20, 2014 at 21:59
So you don’t actually have any evidence then?
Tim · March 21, 2014 at 00:50
I commented on the yellow journalism used to report the article. The viewer should be informed of the circumstances about the subject without the personal bias of the reporters own opinion that clearly is designed to sway the readers opinion to the reporters view. Namaste.
admin · March 21, 2014 at 13:02
So where should facts and evidence fit in?
I note that you have not indicated anything you think is factually incorrect in the article.
Tim · March 21, 2014 at 18:14
You bring up facts. Where did the info come from that makes the reporter an expert on this subject? I repeat, that my original comment is about the yellow journalism tactics. Not about whether the satellite exist or not. Through my own research in science and knowledge of how the Government keeps info from the World, I think the foreign satellite does exist. Regardless of the reporters opinion. When full disclosure takes place this year, the facts you seek will be reveled. And the true nature of how the article was written will be exposed. What excuses will you use if the satellite is real? Namaste.
Tom · March 30, 2016 at 01:33
And here we are over a year later – did the “full disclosure take[s] place this year”? In my limited reading on such topics as this and “Nibiru” there’s a lot in common with religious sects that announce dates for the end of the world – when it doesn’t transpire then an elementary mistake is discovered that made it slightly premature and now the new date is soon. It’s always “jam tomorrow”, and never acceptance that the theory has simply failed its test.
Ruan · May 14, 2014 at 05:10
+1 for Tim
norm · March 14, 2014 at 19:08
after reading this page and doing a diagnostic on the whole conspiracy it is my findings that neither for or against has any concrete evidence. The initial results is that the object is a u.o.o. “unidentified orbiting object” . which will remain unidentified orbiting object until we get factual evidence that determines without a doubt the objects origin. What it is and where it came from is all speculation. Space is indeed vast and though there is no evidence of it being not of modern era there’s still no evidence it is not.
Ruan · May 14, 2014 at 05:08

But the point is Vaimanika Shastra is not an ancient text. Even the person who first published it in 1952 never claimed it was a document that had existed from ancient times, rather it was claimed to have been dictated by spirits in the first half of the twentieth century. Do you believe this text was dictated by spirits?

admin · May 14, 2014 at 10:09
You have raised an interesting point. Tesla is referred to as a “mad scientist” by many sources based on his more unlikely theories and pronouncements and unorthodox behaviour. Looking more closely at his life, it is possible he actually may have contended with mental health issues. In light of this, I am amending the article.
Dan Walker · February 17, 2014 at 11:14
It saddens me, the way believers go about promoting their theories. All too often they aggressively reject solid evidence that contradicts them while enthusiastically embracing the flimsiest of claims that support them. Just like this example, different stories join and grow and have arbitrary details added (like the alleged mass someone mentioned) because believers accept them without question and pass them on. Why is it only the debunkers that provide credible sources for their information? Why do believer so frequently tell us there is so much evidence but fail to give any specific reference to such evidence?
I want to believe. I really do. I know that logically there must be other planets out there capable of supporting life and that logically some of them must have been around for much longer than ours but every time I see an interesting story and do a bit of actual research I find myself disappointed. If believers want to be taken seriously they have to start challenging and testing these stories. Apply the scientific method. Accept only those hypotheses that they have seriously attempted to disprove and yet still hold.
Sadly many of those that believe come across as people who have been off their meds too long and only serve to make UFOs seem less credible than they are already.
Dave · May 14, 2014 at 01:08
It is a belief system and a belief system usually needs no evidence. To attack someones beliefs that they hold dear always results in an illogical outburst.
We are all humans and have to take everything with a grain of salt, always demanding clams to be backed with evidence and reference checking as we go along. Sadly others believe in what they want to and reject anything that opposes their view. Its no wonder it took us so many years to create the most basic of tools.
If you put me in the wild, how long before I could build something to email you with? Not in my lifetime!

Thanks for all the info
admin · February 13, 2014 at 13:35
While the Black Knight isn’t real, I’m not sure I’d call its story a deliberate hoax, no single person or group invented it. It is just a set of originally separate rumours and tales joined into one. Myth, legend or rumour seem to describe it better.
Edward · April 5, 2014 at 21:30
How is the mercury vortex engine a Hoax from 20 years ago when my father told me about this 33 years ago. He had read about it in a UFO book about the device powering the Vimana craft from Indian legend? Also the so called Black Knight damaged craft-thing is real. Just go and the look up the evidence instead of joining the ranks of the close minded de-bunkers. Aliens and other inhabited worlds exist. Simply because we can’t travel to other worlds does not mean that more advanced ancient cultures can’t. There is far too much evidence to deny their existence and way too much strange phenomenon going on to deny that something is not right with our little patch of Earth.
admin · April 7, 2014 at 09:42
Dear Edward, I was saying that story that the Nazis invented something called “die Glocke” is a recent fabrication. However the stories of Vimina as flying machine are also a hoax albeit a bit older, having been made up about 90 years ago (see Vaimānika Shāstra .
I’m sorry you didn’t like our article but do note Martina did “look up the evidence”. She found there was nothing all to suggest the Black Knight is a real object.
Ruan · May 14, 2014 at 05:05
Its really bad when you are sided to one side. Now you would call everyhing untrue even ancient indian text. What proof have you got to discredit Vimina.
And again no one has answered my question on how a space blanket can maintain low earth orbit?
It works being selective….
admin · May 14, 2014 at 09:54
You do know that the Vaimānika Shāstra is not an ancient text but was made up in the 20th Century?
The lost blanket was photographed for about half an hour in December 1998, I honestly don’t know if it is still up there, I assume it was too small to be worth tracking. I would guess it is still in orbit though it is relatively small and hence won’t experience much drag.
Dan · January 18, 2016 at 22:46
vimanas do not originate with said 20th century text but in ancient Sanskrit epics.
The above mentioned 20th century text is a theoretical work based on ancient texts.
Whether the theory holds or not is beside the point.
The point is that the Vedas do refer to flying machines.
So in effect you say that the Vedas are a hoax…
You cherry pick but why so adamantly.
admin · January 19, 2016 at 09:48
Dear Dan, but are ancient documents 100% factually accurate accounts of events which really happened? I doubt this as, for example, there are descriptions of all sorts of people, places and events in ancient Irish mythology which never actually existed in the real world.
Do genuinely ancient texts really refer to “flying machines”?
Dan · January 22, 2016 at 22:47
Was that deliberate? I think so.
You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
At its core you oppose free thought.
Your existence is driven by agoraphobia.
I was correcting your error.
That being, vimanas and the concept of do not originate from a 20th century text.
Mythology often enough leads to tangible truths.
I’m tiring of you know but there we will be like me dropping in regularly.
admin · January 26, 2016 at 15:44
Dear Dan, once again I’m not in agreement with some of your points.
No, that is incorrect. I am fiercely opposed to ignorance and the spreading of untruths.
No, that’s not true either.
That is true, but the idea of them being aircraft or spaceships originated in the document Vaimānika Shāstra, a 20th Century hoax.
G · December 6, 2014 at 02:26
Myths, legends and rumours are more and more often, found to be based in truth(black knight, hollow moon etc, nonsense aside). Troy, as an example. This makes sense, when many cultures have a verbal tradition of passing on learning’s, through song, stories, poetry etc, as well as written material…Inevitably, this also leads to ‘Chinese whispers’, with the actual truth, being embellished, and obscured beyond recognition…perhaps that’s the point….
Nikola · February 2, 2014 at 14:31
Who says the The Black Knight had traveled here from another solar system, it could simply be a message left by our ancestors letting us know (if we made it thru whatever cataclysmic event that happened) where they attempted to go. Evidence all over the planet of of ancient technologies and lost civilizations, Hell look around now, USA, Dubai, England, Asia, South America. skyscrapers everywhere. I find it very hard to believe that in our ancient past all the “isolated” cultures around the world, decided to up and build pyramids.

Australian man solves the mystery of the black knight satellite,
By zooming/enlarging to 600% the original photograph taken by the US pilot then by rotating that photographic image vertically and then further flipping/rotating horizontally a red haired person appears to be laying on his or her bed just hidden a little by her top sheet, it would seem the image is of a female on the right of that then revealed image and not the space junk as those in the US Defence would have the public believe.
Merry Christmas from John the solver of mysteries and puzzles, codes and signals.

Science fiction is real science and science is actually science fiction. UFOs have been covered up routinely for milenia appearing sporadically in journals, historical documents that remain classified, and other artifacts also classified. Who actually built the pyramids and other temples? Not modern man I think.
What can we expect from science and religion though if we are a prison planet, to use an alex jones term, and we dont even know it and may never know it? We expect the bilderbergers and secret societies to come clean when they have had a monopoly on the occult forever and ever?
We get a rare glimpse into the reality with science fiction games and hollywood blockbusters. Glimpse into space-time travel at speeds faster than light, glimpse into wormhole creation and wormhole travel. Glimpse into laser and anti-matter weapons.
I firmly believe in the unified field theory that means electromagneticism encompasses all. Gravity is a form of electromagnetism that has a resonance factor that can be overcome by phasing against that energy. Our planet is hollow with entrances near the poles and perhaps this is the reason for the dark knight satellite orbiting there, to monitor traffic in and out. Our moon appears to be a planetoid spaceship parked into one sided orbit by the ancients or elders. The ancients being reptillians, whom resemble the shadows of star trek, and the elders being the atlantians or lemurians.
Our species is doomed. We are NOT in control of our own destiny. I think we are being harvested for souls, kept ignorant of everything important intentionally with half witted theories that never really solve anything. Our lifespan is short compared to other species that can live hundreds or even thousands of years. Someday we will either be invaded outright or some comet will strike us and kill billions since we have NO space defense of our own. Bump comets off course? That is laughably retarded!
Who controls the money supply and who meets in secrecy each year? Always follow the money and secrecy trail. People have been taking secrets to their grave for too long and its time to change this. We humans as a collective need to take charge of our future, in terms of everything, ie spiritualism, politics, money, science, space exploration, etc. And stop paying taxes until this happens!!!!!!
Thomas · April 18, 2014 at 17:59
-Who actually built the pyramids and other temples? Not modern man I think.- I beg to differ, men built the pyramids and temples, just because it was thousands of years ago does not mean we did not have (and I say this in a general term) technology. The Egyptians built the pyramids using slaves and giant pulley systems, Stonehenge was built by men, using logs (rather a lot of them) to role the huge stones along and then pulley systems to raise the standing ones up.
– speeds faster than light- (someone must be a trek fan) in order to achieve light speed you would:
(a) need an infinite amount of energy
(b) need a way to get 100% yield from that energy to be turned into kinetic energy
(c) need a material that would not tear apart into base molecules when travelling at a speed as fast, or faster, than light.
Not only this but light speed it self is impossible, even through electromagnetism because electromagnetism is a force carried by photons, there is an exchange of photons between negative and positive charged ions that let these ions “know” whether something is there that attracts it is by an exchange of photons and these photons travel at the speed of light and so the material that would be moving at the speed of light simply could not. Since they can only travel at the speed of light at the most. The ions themselves cannot travel faster than light if they did they would simply fall apart, perhaps even creating black holes.
– Our moon appears to be a planetoid spaceship parked into one sided orbit by the ancients or elders.- We would have picked up space signals, even amateurs and this would have been leaked out some way or another, also The moon landing????
-Someday we will either be invaded outright or some comet will strike us and kill billions since we have NO space defence of our own. Bump comets off course? That is laughably retarded!- (a) The likelihood of aliens living near enough to invade is near impossible, why would they choose to invade us? If they had the ability to travel at such speeds why not go to other planets that are rich in resources like ours? Other goldilocks zone planets?
(b) No space defence? look at the moon for one, covered in craters and holes from blocking comets that would have otherwise hit Earth. It is a giant shield stopping most of the comets you speak of, we may not have any space defences but space itself defends us, larger planets in our solar system would attract a comet a lot more than our little blue ball. I think anarchists like yourself who are distrustful of people we freely elect are the main threat to the planet. There is no proof, or even a good theory as to why people would cover up aliens and UFO’s (meaning Unidentified Flying Object, not anything to do with extra terrestrials). Space exploration is under way, the first human settlement on Mars is set to be created in 2023. If you are to make an argument, PLEASE back up your ideas else it is easy to pick apart…

But he is probably just an unpaid teenage intern who fancies himself as some noble defender of the church of science from the ignorant hordes of boors and apostates who dare criticize his precious, precarious worldview!

Well, that happens to be what an administrator’s job is on any website. And (almost) every website in existence that allows its users to post their thoughts and opinions publicly has one or several administrators/moderators that help police this particular content. So to bash him for doing his job is pretty silly. And if that were true, don’t you think your personal defamation would have been deleted? Just sayin’. I, personally, have not seen one instance thusfar where admins have been rude to any of the users who have posted (and I’ve seen some of the posts are…. less than informed).
That said, I don’t understand why people get all uppity over internet comments in the first place. There’s no reason to personally attack anyone here. This comment section is for sharing your own ideas and beliefs, and in sharing you may learn others’ ideas as well. And I think the level of anger some people people display is a bit ridiculous and unnecessary. Of course there are going to be those who disagree with you. But why would you get mad just because someone believes differently? In what way does that hurt you? Most people would not act this way in real life; however, just because you cannot see each others’ faces, it doesn’t give anyone the right to bully others. It’s like everyone has forgotten that very simple lesson taught in kindergarten – treat others how you want to be treated.
And that’s my two cents about that. Take it or leave it. -shrug-

Thomas · April 18, 2014 at 16:54
Solomon, I have to correct you here. There is substantial evidence that humans and monkeys both evolved over millions of years from the same predecessors: some form of ape. We share so much of our DNA with chimpanzees that this is the best theory of our creation around. What makes you think that people who believe this theory are “a laugh”? The fact is that A chimp has every bone you have but their bones have been modified to be proficient in an arboreal (tree) environment. Humans are apes. The only difference with humans and other great apes is arbitrary. We are bipedal and intelligent but there were other bipedal apes however such as Australopithecus around 4 million years ago. Surely there is evidence enough that humans come from apes?
G · December 6, 2014 at 02:02
Thomas. like Soloman you are entitled to your opinion, but as for evolution, Darwin’s theory is taught, and repeated, to us as fact, when like ‘admin’ is fond of saying. Where’s the proof? We are fed this theory as Truth, while we wait about for the ‘right’ fossils to show up, to prove it…my own opinion is they won’t…..
….and consequently every other theory is ridiculed, and immediately side-lined with no proof, whatsoever! On the contrary, facts that may indeed show the truth to be something else, are filtered out, to support the ( too many folk, have too much invested in this idea ) preferred theory…
I know I don’t know…but I know they don’t know either.

Coming from apes is a theory. Don’t forget we still haven’t found the missing link. And as for DNA, I may be wrong about this, but don’t we share like 90%+ DNA with a banana.

And, more to the topic, there is a high chance that aliens do exist. We live on a planet of eight orbiting one of billions of stars in our galaxy. Our galaxy is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe. Scientists have already found planets like ours, that orbit in the “goldilocks” sector that perfect for water and life. Surely somewhere in our universe there has to be life? Not only this but we are only thinking about organisms living off what terrestrial organisms look like. Some life-forms may not require oxygen or water to live. If we were alone in our universe, it would be an awful waste of space- Carl Sagan during the symposium on “Life Beyond Earth and the Mind of Man”, held at Boston University 20 November 1972. I don’t believe aliens have visited us, albeit some rather persuasive theories and ideas, but I believe 100% that extra-terrestrial life does exist.

Uhmm yes people are saying its been up there for years 1998 till now do the maths its been a few years already. And buy saying it is in the same orbit as the ISS again raises my question how can a thermal blanket maintain low earth orbit? ISS is in low earth orbit..And the youtube video shows a thermal blanket spinning away from the ISS, now in the video i would agree that it is a thermal blanket they recorded shiny on both sides. Now let me entertain the idea that the blanket crumpled up a bit and now looks like black knight. Why is it not shiny like the blanket is????? And from any angle it does not shine like the blanket. Second black knight is huge that small piece of thermal blanket would never make up the bulk of the body that is black knight.
And i’m no conpiracy believer nor am i saying its alien, but i can make sense and that thing is not a thermal blanket(Fact). And no one will convince me other wise with the proof provided so far.
ISS low earth orbit
Maintaining Low earth orbit
Nope not a blanket sorry…..

You have read the article? The point is lazy and/or dishonest authors (Martina is too nice to put it as bluntly as this) have bolted together totally unrelated and contradictory facts, rumours and speculations into one clunky narrative. For examples the debris photographed by the STS-88 astronauts was in the same orbit as the ISS was then, the early ’60s sighting of a Corona satellite was in a polar orbit, Duncan Lunan’s hypothetical space probe was a quarter of a million miles from Earth at a Lagrangian point (and for reasons that make a degree of sense never moves from there). These are completely different orbits so these cannot be the same object.
I am completely satisfied the five STS-88 photos show the blanket dislodged from the ISS a few hours earlier. That is what it looks like and that’s what the crew believed at the time. They only took five images of it in half an hour, if it had been a bizarre alien visitor you would have thought there would have been a little more attention to it.

A diagnostician would lose his job if he treated only the symptoms a patient was feeling, and was not able to link them together to find out the cause of the symptoms.
Let’s assume that not every single report is unrelated. Of the ones that aren’t contradictory, what could be pieced together?
Jacob Fox · May 27, 2015 at 10:42
So it’s true in medicine, ergo it must be true in speculation. Silly.
Ruan · November 21, 2013 at 05:21
if this was a thermal blanket like they would like to claim it to be……okay to stay in orbit all objects put into orbit around the earth needs a boost every now and again to keep the orbit. As we still have air molecules that cause friction on orbiting objects causing them to slow down and eventually dropping back to earth. Then with a boost of rockets momemtum is increased and the orbit is maintained.
How can a thermal blanket keep its orbit for so many years? If anyone can shed some light i would greatly appreciate it i’m no rocket engineer.
admin · November 21, 2013 at 12:14
The five STS-88 thermal blanket pictures (STS088-724-65 to STS088-724-70) were taken over less than 30 minutes on 11 December 1998; no one is saying it has been up there for years. Note that the fact that it was in roughly the same place for 20 minutes plus show its orbit was almost identical to the Shuttle and ISS.
Conspiracy theorists, who have no qualms about misleading the public, show selected images from this set out of context, often cropped and zoomed in on, and claim they show an alien object. I urge you go to The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth, choose the mission (STS088), roll number (724) and frame numbers (65-70) and see the originals for yourself.
Ruan · October 2, 2014 at 11:09
Funny that this was also reported in Time magazine in the 1960 before the “thermal blanket’ incident!
admin · October 2, 2014 at 11:40
Hi, thanks for your comment. As the article clearly says the the Black Knight myth is made from is several completely unrelated and indeed contradictory stories mashed together. The Time magazine reports and the lost thermal blanket pictures are clearly completely separate.
Only people who haven’t looked into the facts or people who choose to believe in imaginary things claim the thermal blanket images show some kind of mystery object.
Dustin Jernberg · November 8, 2013 at 00:03

Black Knight Satellite and I have never found anything
that was considered concrete proof that this satellite
exists and the photos of the Black Knight satellite

object but of many objects. Unless the Black Knight satellite
is able to transform those photos are of many objects.

This satellite is infact a dead spaceship. Thousands of years ago aliens came to our planet to aid our civilisation, they were aliens or possibly time travellers or survivors from the mass extinction on mars… This is one of their ships which became unable to return to their secret hidden base inside the hollow moon… The pilot of this craft died and so the ship just circles our planet incessantly… Someone enlarged pictures of it and there is a decal of a pyramid with an all seeing eye at the top. JFK knew this and was going to tell all in a speech on the 1st of December 1963 and that’s why the illuminati sent a mafia hit man back from the year 2124 to shoot from the grassy knowel.
This is all true because a guy in the pub told me and read it in a book…

Richard · April 1, 2015 at 18:53
Lol, very good, it must be true then!! I actually believe aliens have visited us but I’m astounded by the stupidity of some of the black knight believers. Their claims amount to nothing when questioned by admin. They make claims of this and that because someone claimed to have seen or heard some sort of evidence. Tessler was a genius but couldn’t be sure of the origin of the radio signals, and if the signals came from the ‘13000’ year old black knight, has it stopped working ?? Perhaps the batteries have run out. If it was there we wouldn’t be relying on a few pieces of vague ‘evidence’ over the duration of over a hundred years, which seem to relate to different things. Some people have claimed it’s 26 miles across, it weighs 10-12 tons, it travels at escape velocity and it fires titanium balls into the ground. I think maybe these people are on another planet already! Their grammar and spelling is awful too, maybe there’s a teacher’s conspiracy to make them stupid. All this, and I actually believe in alien life, just fed up with reading useless evidence or rather claims of evidence from believers :))
Daemetius · November 2, 2013 at 07:16
Something I don’t get is why hasn’t anyone sent people to tinker with it? Or try to bring the satellite down through means of thrusters or tackling it? You know anything to see if it’s space junk or an actual satellite?
Makes no sense, considering we have the methods and technology to inspect something odd orbiting the planet.
admin · November 5, 2013 at 13:11

Daemetius · November 7, 2013 at 17:42

Gortron · November 7, 2013 at 23:48
You assume that tesla heard a pulsar, without really knowing. The Tesla story had nothing to do with the black knight by the way, you made that connection. You write off some strange radio signals completely, which are interesting in their own right, because of what one guy thought about it. You trust government documents, that’s just a general mistake. You once again assume, that because Gordon Cooper said he didn’t see anything on that particular flight, that he didn’t see it on a different one. Simultaneously overlooking the other UFOs he said he had seen. A blanket?! It might not be a 13,000 year old satellite, but that thing is definitely not a blanket. There are multiple angles captured of it. That’s not even considering the fact that you don’t know the distance that the photo was taken from the object, an essential consideration. I don’t necessarily believe that there’s an ancient spacecraft orbiting earth, but I definitely don’t believe your argument.
Dicky D · October 17, 2014 at 14:10
I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but government documents can’t be trusted simply on the merit that they’re written by government employees.
jim oberg · December 28, 2015 at 06:06
“That’s not even considering the fact that you don’t know the distance that the photo was taken from the object, an essential consideration.” — Sure we do know the distance. In the video showing the blanket tumbling nearby, you can see its shadow cross the extended robot arm. Further, all the crew were watching it from the moment it came off the astronaut’s wrist tether.

Hi there all, I’ve been reading all the comments with great interest and I would like to add my story from last night when I was out walking the dog. It was 1920 when we started off ( we live in a small town to the north of Manchester, England.), there were no artificial light about and it was time for the ISS to go overhead and for once we had clear skies …… And there we had it,bright as a button, in sight, it was fantastic, then I spotted a very faint light about 4 inches behind the ISS as you look into the sky following it on the same track and at the same speed. I was completely astonished ! I shut my eyes for a second, rubbed them to make sure I was seeing ok, and sure enough, it was still tracking the space station until it was out of sight after about 4 minutes. It wasn’t until later on in the evening when I was talking to a friend that I heard about this ” Dark Knight ” and wondered if I this is what I had seen.
admin · October 23, 2013 at 15:42
Hi Dave, I wish I’d seen that (it was overcast and pouring with rain here). I think you saw the Cygnus cargo vehicle which had been released from the ISS yesterday on its way to re-enter the atmosphere. Well spotted!

admin · October 15, 2013 at 11:44
That is an interesting observation, though we’d probably have been in a better position to rendezvous with a hypothetical alien satellite back in the late sixties and seventies when Apollo and Saturn hardware were available.
J.C. · September 15, 2013 at 13:22
This article ignores the accounts of this satellite being observed from ground. This is the meat and potatoes of the entire story. It was reported by the US government as a possible Russian spy satellite 3 years before the launch of Sputnik. They did an article about it in Time magazine! This was the source of the newspaper articles so briefly mentioned above. Apparently, skywatchers made a game of finding it. It could be seen moving in the opposite direction of man made satellites, and appeared as a red dot. I’m not sure how they came to the 13 ton estimate on it’s size. It moved 3 times as fast as normal, and did an advanced orbit before we ever achieved orbit at all. Whether or not you believe in the photos and radio transmissions, there WAS something up there that defied all logic, and it was seen around the world. Now, if I were a government agency attempting to recover it, I would keep it hush hush, and launch a misinformation mission. Just sayin’.

Thanks, here’s a link to the start of the story.
Maya · December 15, 2013 at 06:56
The issue is supposedly 15 March, 1954, TIME magazine
There is another issue of Time March 7, 1960 which says that the Airforce had identified a mysterious satellite as part of the Discoverer satellite which went astray.
Of course the obvious question is does this article refer to the apparent “thermal blanket” of your image? If so, then one can rule out a space blanket.
sir capone · March 6, 2014 at 18:49
the thermal blanket has to be misinformation if infact there were articles dated back to the mid 50’s claiming something was there. i did not look so i can’t say for sure. what i can say is that there really is something there and the governments of the world are keeping it hush hush for some reason. they think that they know whats best for the masses and choose to keep secret or release certain info regardless if we want to know or not. i will not join the silly arguments like some of the others who commented but i do believe that it is technology beyond our scope and reason and that it not debris or space junk…from the photographs that i’ve seen i can say that it is too structured to be of that origin.
admin · March 7, 2014 at 09:45
The point of this article that people have kludged together totally unrelated and contradictory facts, events and speculations into one story. For example the blanket photographed by the STS-88 astronauts was in the same orbit as the ISS but the Corona satellite observed in the 1960s was in a polar orbit, the space probe Duncan Lunan suggested had to be a quarter of a million miles from Earth at a Lagrangian point (to account for the radio echo time) so these CANNOT all be the same object.

the thing is, we know the government has been editing/removing/modifying information on the web for years now. a perfect example is the current insistence that there is no vaccine for ebola with the current so called outbreak. . . im old enough(and my eidetic memory helps a lot) to remember an “outbreak” in the early 90’s that was horrifying at the time, when all of a sudden the government shows up with a pre-manufactured vaccine in exactly the amount needed to curtail the outbreak . . . now, im not a biologist, but i believe it takes quite some time to properly manufacture a vaccine to something, and even then only after you have actually found one, yet this vaccine was handed to the CDC during this outbreak before too many of the infected people had died from it. now the internet insists that there is no vaccine, and yet the people that are currently infected have not yet died, even though the period from symptoms to death is supposed to be fairly short for ebola.
the truth is, the government has become very good at hiding information and misinforming the public, and while it is literally impossible to completely remove something from the internet, it is quite simple to make a change and then propogate it until it overrides or overwrites the information that you want gone.
john smith · August 6, 2015 at 18:11

In fact there was something capable of this, maybe. Germany during WWII had V2 project and project of some two stage rocket. But there is NO EVIDENCE of starting of that project or completing it.
Back in 80’s Iraq wanted space program, one considered way was to tie few SCUD rockets together (4 as first stage one as second). Theoretically it’s possible with this to reach some low orbit. So maybe someone launched few V2 in same configuration.
admin · September 2, 2014 at 09:49
The idea of a “clustered” A4 is interesting but probably not easy to fly. Based on the rockets’ streamlined shape even physically joining them would be difficult (Scuds are simple cylinders which are obviously easier to bunch together). If it had been proposed some documentation would have survived as it has for even paper projects like the A9 and A10. There is zero evidence for any attempt by Nazi Germany to launch anything into orbit.

Hi, Thanks for correcting the Black Knight nonsense, which as you say has nothing to do with me. As regards Izar, when I published my attempted translation of the 1920s signals, Izar’s distance was generally quoted as 103 light-years. Dynamical parallax calculations suggested that the star had been F5 when on the Main Sequence, which would have allowed time for evolution of intelligent life, and made the supposed 2nd planet originally habitable and the 6th planet habitable now. When the true distance turned out to be 203 l.y., it made the star A0 when on the Main Sequence: no time for evolution, and neither planet would ever have been habitable if they existed, so I withdrew the whole translation in 1976. The star has cropped up in other contexts since then, but that is another story. Cheers, Duncan.

Dear Duncan, thank you for setting the record straight. I read and thoroughly enjoyed Man and the Stars back in the day (even if I’d reservations about the Epsilon Bootes speculations), any thoughts on a reprint or updated edition?
Duncan Lunan · November 7, 2013 at 23:31
Hi, sorry I only saw this query now. By 1976 it was clear there was a need for a sequel to “Man and the Stars” and I submitted an outline to the publisher, even went to London to discuss it, but never got a decision so in theory it’s still on offer to them! I still have the proposal on file and if I can find a publisher for it, I’ll be very glad to do it.
Meanwhile my 8th book “Incoming Asteroid! What could we do?” has just been published by Springer, and I’m negotiating for a 9th book right now.
Best wishes, Duncan.

Excuse me but life can be “from” a planet without necessarily needing to have evolved there. Case in point: Earth and mankind.
John Jensen · September 7, 2013 at 13:44
There is a germ of a story here, it seems. Hard to manufacture a story in 1954 and get it published in Newspapers that talks about space debris, and ‘satellites’ without there being some basis for the claims.
I have known for sometime that there is a debris field of non natural artifacts and material circling the Earth (high and mid range Earth altitude) that pre-date the space age beginning in 1957.
It is significantly more that 2 objects mentioned in this article, and most are in mid to high orbit profiles, (the Exophere, 300 to 600 miles above surface). There are also objects in stationary position on the dark side of the moon. Whether these are all inert, junk or debris is not known. Though there is some evidence they are directly connected to what appears to be intelligently controlled objects in both Earth and the Moon’s Exophere.
There is a reason that we do not approach them for further analysis. Basically the same reason we have not been back to the Moon. We were warned or ‘waved off’. Until we have a close up analysis of these ‘satellites’, and some better hard data to go on, it will be anyone’s WAG as to their purpose, function and origin.
At the very least, if these satellites, or debris, or junk in fact existed before 1954, then they are specific evidence of intelligent and advanced civilization before the last great cataclysm, 7k years ago,
admin · September 9, 2013 at 21:56
Dear John, your claims are fascinating, but where is the evidence?
Dave · May 14, 2014 at 00:44
You do not need evidence when your belief is not based on evidence. If you believe that there is no evidence because it has been hidden, you can easily believe it.
For example, I am a 700 foot giant, but the evidence has been covered up and hidden. You can not prove me wrong. Therefore I am a 700 foot giant. End of story.
But I am not. I am a mere human who makes mistakes and my view changes the more I learn.

Good comment. I just hope that contributors to this discussion are never falsely accused of a serious crime and have to prove that they didn’t do it. Thank goodness that in our Justice system it is not our responsibility to prove our innocence. Rather, it is the prosecutions’ responsibility to prove our guilt.
That said, yes, you can believe anything that you want, unsubstantiated or not, but in this case you would be in serious trouble if a jury sitting in judgement of you doesn’t feel that way.
Dairokkan · August 30, 2014 at 23:26
Well it can be quiet easy today to collect evidence about what is happening on orbit. All what is needed is to have many eyes, just scan near space with many small private telescopes connected to internet where everyone can see what is happening.
It’s same as with famous Moon alien ship, we know what and we know where and it’s more than 3km long, so it must be possible to find from earth. So anyone with telescope, even small can bring evidence.
It’s same for BKS, we know where it should be so it could be possible to find it from earth, if it’s possible see ISS or space shuttle it could be possible to see this satellite.
admin · September 1, 2014 at 10:02
I agree it ought to be easy to collect evidence of alien spaceships if they are as common and obvious as people say. Just buy a pair of all-sky cameras and let them run for a few months . For a modest expense and effort a UFOlogist could prove aliens exist and become the most famous person in the world!
Dan · January 18, 2016 at 22:11
Why would it be easy to collect evidence of advanced space faring beings that don’t want their picture taken?
Why would you believe that the proposed pictures would end all argument?
This article and your corresponding thoughts are extraordinarily beige.
admin · January 19, 2016 at 09:37
Dear Dan, thanks for your comments.
I guess it would not be, but how come UFOs are reported to be brightly illuminated then? You can’t have it both ways, either alien spaceships are trying to hide or they are flying over populated areas displaying bright lights. Most reports I get assume the latter.
Sets of wide field cameras are used in astronomy to monitor the sky for meteors and aurorae. Here is a link to Armagh’s meteor cameras and a link to the current image and archives. Equipment like this gathers scientifically important data at for modest cost. UFOlogists could create similar set ups to prove that UFOs are real phenomenon. But they don’t.
Dan · January 22, 2016 at 22:14
There is no link provided.
I’m aware of what a wide field camera is.
Spare us the condescending attitude.
If they don’t exist than what exactly is not hiding?
if you believed these reports you use in your argument what use is your camera proposal?
Ufologist do take pictures but no camera set up nor any picture will satisfy.
Therefore rather than placing the onus on the ufologist I propose you set up the cameras yourself or get out of the argument.
You cannot disprove what they cannot prove and so you are at an impasse your unwilling to overcome and therefore have become obsolete within this context.
you argue that because strange lights DO occur that my point is wrong?
You cannot have it both ways.
Your argument, based on reports you have no faith in, also assumes some knowledge of the UFO agenda. Something which at this stage is uncertain to Unknown by most and discredited by you.
admin · January 26, 2016 at 15:36
Dear Dan, thank you for your comments. I’ll have to disagree with some of them though.
Sorry but there are two links in my response to you, try moving your mouse over them.
That was never my intention, I’ll sorry you feel that way.
I am not sure what you are saying here if it is if there are no alien spaceships then there is nothing to hide I am in agreement with you.
Multiple images of the same object taken simultaneously from different known positions would provide excellent data on its position and speed. This would prove a real distant object have been imaged and if it didn’t match any known object or phenomenon it would be scientifically intriguing.
Is this correct? Most I see are from members of the public.
But do you have evidence of an alien spaceships?
I am personally intrigued by UFO reports, and I am prepared to spent more time looking at them (in an attempt to determine what the witness saw) than most colleagues, so I know a lot about the subject. Sadly the more I have learned, the less believable the idea that there is anything substantial to UFOs becomes.

Thank you, Ms. Redpath, for a fun article. I reached it via a link from one of Alan Boyle’s articles at nbcnews/science ( http://www.nbcnews.com/science/astronaut-spots-ufo-outside-space-station-then-its-identified-6C10955394 ).
I might have preferred more skepticism in the early paragraphs to a blunt debunking in the final one, but that’s a mere quibble. Another quibble, and a historical tidbit, are :
The “UFOlogical author” must have been Donald Keyhoe ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyhoe ). I guess your “Keyhole” was created by an over-zealous spell-checker, though it might be somehow derived from the well-known generic label “Key Hole”, applied to several families of US spy satellites starting in the early 1960s. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_Hole )
Of course, Tesla wasn’t really “at work” in that famous image. It was a multiple-exposure of him reading in his lab and of electrical discharges in the same unoccupied room at a different time. Tesla himself later admitted that he would have been killed if he’d been in the room at the same time as the lightning.
The least-unlikely explanation of his “message from Mars” is that it was a signal being sent by Guglielmo Marconi to co-ordinate mock battle maneuvers between ships in the English Channel. It’s hard to believe that signal could have been detected roughly 7500 great-circle km. from its source, but harder to believe the LGM-from-Mars hypothesis. For more info read the book “Wizard … Biography of a Genius” by Marc Seifer (1996).

Since Izar (Epsilon Boo) is a young hot A-type star, it’s very unlikely to have any planets with intelligent life – there probably would not have been time for evolution to produce such life in the star’s lifetime.
And if there was such a satellite in Earth Polar Orbit, many nations would be able to detect it, not just USA, UK, Russia, China etc. It would not remain a secret for very long.
So it’s just more ‘UFO/Alien’ type rubbish.
admin · August 12, 2013 at 11:25
Dear Terry, you’re right about Izar. If I remember Duncan Lunan’s book correctly he had
some hand-waving argument that we didn’t understand stellar evolution correctly to get around this objectionused data for Izar’s distance and lumiousity which are now out-dated (I’m happy to acknowledge I’d misremembered Lunan’s original explanation for this). By the way, I’m sure you remember Lunan gave a couple of talks to the IAA in the ’80s and ’90s, I’m surprised no one challenged him on this.
Of course, you’re right to say any reasonably-sized object in near Earth orbit would be spotted easily by government facilities (and these days by amateurs too). In Lunan’s original thesis his probe was parked at one of the Earth’s Lagrangian points (which is completely incompatible with the rest of this legend, so believers ignore it!)
Martina’s whole intention behind this piece was to expose the nonsense in this weird yarn. I’m delighted to say this article is getting a huge number of page views so I’d say she has succeeded!
andy yarrow · September 12, 2013 at 23:51
I have a theory about the use of a Satellite possibly left in Polar orbit.
Lets say that the Dark Knight Satellite actually had a function and was at one time served a purpose of receiving certain Radio and Atmospherical releases from the planet after firing titanium balls into specific spots on the earth in order to receive a decoadable feedback about the makeup of the planet in those points, by resonance to work out if there were lets say mineral or other types of elements in the surface of the planet, by microresolution of soundwaves, that may be of use to another race?
Such as near CSOS in Morwenstowe Cornwall,
I think with a little research on the polar orbit you could infact place the Dark Knight over that area every 15-20 years?
Good to keep an open mind……………………………….

Doesn’t seem to be a reply button on the post of yours below, so am using this one. GCHQ is in Cheltenham. admin · October 6, 2013 at 19:46
I think Martina pretty clearly made the point that the Black Knight satellite story is bogus.
andy yarrow · October 27, 2013 at 21:03
Have I ruffeled your feathers, you seem to be a little annoyed.
To the right side of GCHQ is a hole in a field that is hundreds if not thousands of years old which seems to be bottomless as far as I know.
Having been found some 25 years ago under a massive oak tree stump.
The holes diameter is about 1.5 meters.
There is a titanium sphere on a secluded beach to the left of GCHQ, it is about 1.5 meters in diameter completely flawless, without seams, and is bead like , with a hole through the center. It has been seen by very few people, I myself hugged the sphere and noted it’s resonance after tapping it was infact not steel?
The shpere itself has carved some very unusual shapes in the rock there, silky smooth ripples from attrition of a large spherical object, over thousands of years this phenomenon has occurred.
My friend I grew up in the valley next to GCHQ or CSOS, I’m not infact making this up.
Put into play the math behind my logic, a bead like sphere released into our gravity would reach heats that only the properties of titanium could deal with.
Traveling at thousands of miles an hour as it impacted would cut through our earths crust like a knife through butter until hitting the water table.
The water table at that point is one of the deepest on OUR planet.
The heat the water produces a lot of pressure, blasting the sphere into the air, explaining the sphere being on a beach not 1 mile from the satellite station
During its flight from the hole readings produced from this event could infact be collected by a probe circling our earth, sound waves desyphered into readable data.
Question? When Nostradamus passed through Terveren in Belgium did he or did he not?

you are right about titanium being able to withstand that heat, anything else of that size and shape would have just melted halfway down, take the sr-71 for example, it grew several feet at mach 3. you are right about steel with it being too rigid, it would have shattered on impact, also, how much did the sphere weigh?

Thank you for that Captain.
It is important to understand that being open minded is just one of the requirements for learning. The other is to be skeptical about and to question every assertion of fact – to ask for evidence that can be independently and objectively evaluated. Being both open minded and skeptical at the same time is not a contradiction – both are essential ingredients to discovery. Just because I ask you for evidence of your claims does not mean that I am dismissing them out of hand. But I will dismiss them if you cannot back them up. Just stating them is not sufficient. Does that make me close-minded? No, it just makes me intelligent. Think about that when someone tries to sell you something.
Must we assume that everything that we find in ancient texts must have been written as fact? Is it not possible that they also had the concept of writing works of fiction or fantasy as we do? I have noticed that many times in this discussion thread, the admin simply asks for references or evidence for a claim and at that point the (sub) discussion thread stops. As one of the responders has said, stop complaining about educators and government authorities failing to educate you and learn how to educate yourself. What that means is learning how to reason and learning how to evaluate evidence.
Everybody has a perfect right to believe whatever they want to believe but what I believe (or Tesla for that matter) has no relationship to what is true, because my believing or not believing in something cannot change whether is is true or false – neither can anything that I say or write – even if it is on the internet. It will take some time for this post to become an “ancient” text – maybe by then it will have greater truth.
Irritated Intellectual · November 27, 2017 at 19:59

This is exactly what they don’t teach! Which is exactly what ‘that’ commenter was saying (and evidencing.)
There is all manner of ‘evidence’ out there, it’s just not being divulged, looked into thoroughly, or just outright ignored and swept under a classified rug. So keep that in mind when demanding footnotes, sometimes you just can’t. Fact is stranger than fiction in many cases. So please stop discrediting people’s ideas by demanding resources, I get they’re good for science sake but science has been wrong PLENTY. NO ONE HAS ALL THE FACTS STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DO!

It will doubtless have escaped your attention, but the entirety of stellar physics is in terminal disarray, and apocalyptic decline into a morass of ridiculous chimaerical patches and theories. If we are unable to understand even the star which is closest to us, then it is highly unlikely that we will understand those which are further away.
To exemplify this situation somewhat; how is it possible for a star which is powered by a nuclear reaction involving the fusion of hydrogen into helium, to have a surface which is at several thousand degrees, whilst 200km above that same surface, the temperature is orders of magnitude greater? Are there examples of this strange temperature-gradient inversion phenomenon to be found elsewhere in the physics textbooks?
Thus the impressive-sounding “Main Sequence” paradigm is seen to be mere hubris and imagination.
I refer you to The Electric Universe theory for remedial tuition.
Additionally, it is also becoming increasingly clear to even the most intransigent and purblind proponent of the great myth of Darwinian Evolution, that time is not the necessary and sufficient precondition for the creation of life, but rather, some form of pre-existing intelligence.
I refer you for yet more remedial tuition, to the recent groundbreaking treatise on this subject, the book “Darwin’s Doubt” by Dr Steven Meyer.
Not one of Darwin’s present generation of bulldogs has been anything other than toothless in the fight against what is now beginning to be recognised as the simple truth, ie that
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth”.

admin · October 29, 2013 at 11:28
Thanks for your comments, I’m afraid there is little I can agree with.
the entirety of stellar physics is in terminal disarray
Have you any proof of this? I don’t know any astronomer who would accept this statement.
It’s true that solar physicists do not fully understand the full reason for this, but there are theories using real science. One theory suggests the magnetic fields associated with the Sun’s surface activity induce current flows in the ionised gases in the corona and ‘Ohmic heating’ causes the gases to reach very high temperatures. A more recent theory suggests that magnetohydrodynamic waves distribute the energy generated below the Sun’s surface to the outer layers of the Sun’s atmosphere
Yes, temperatures in the Earth’s upper atmosphere, the appropriately-namedthermosphere, can reach 2000 deg C (this is however not for the same reason as the solar corona’s high temperature).
Alas, if this proposal could actually help astronomers (and engineers working on interplanetary space missions) it would be widely researched. The fact that it isn’t ought to tell you something. The strangely aggressive style of argument, freely throwing out insults, used by some electric universe promoters and the attempts by some of them to use it to support Velikovskism do not help it gain any scientific support.
This is a space and astronomy site so biology is not really relevant to us. However I have the distinct impression that “intelligent design theory” is to biology what “electric universe theory” is to astronomy, something that looks and sounds like science yet isn’t which is pushed by some vocal proponents with other agendas.

Not least of which you make objections to the books cited but by your own admission, trash them without even looking them up. Biology was brought into the conversation, you must be slipping… And in the context with the sun. So there was a complete reason for the slaves comments. It was said that the sun available in the bootes system could not yield intelligent life. Pretty presumptuous.

Dear Molly, I am disappointed that you see my responses to comments left here as “rude”; that is certainly not my intention. I do not mean to “put down everyone’s opinion” but I do reserve the right to challenge and request evidence for statements of fact made by people who comment here.
I am more concerned by your claim that I am “making it up as [I] go along”. I (and Martina, author of this article) have provided references to reliable sources when asked (and also amended the article in response to comments). We have an obligation to be factually accurate. Can you identify instances of when I have provided inaccurate information?
I do not remember saying “that the sun available in the bootes system could not yield intelligent life” (Epsilon Bootes I assume), but that is a fair assumption. It is also five times as massive as the Sun so its time on the main sequence can only have been on the order of 400 million years, that seems a very short time (based on Earth’s experience) for life to arise, evolve to multicelluarity and technological competence. By the way, have you read the article itself and the comments on it by Duncan Lunan? It was he who formulated the whole “space probe from Epsilon Bootes” hypothesis but has now completely withdrawn it as there is not evidence to support it.

I find it interesting that the use of invective and insult such as “intransigent and purblind” is often used as an arguing tactic. As if these invectives lend credence to the argument or can be considered strong rebuttals to opposing views. Good use of vocabulary though TimW – well done. Belief and reason are totally different things. If I believe something because I have thought about it, thoroughly reviewed the evidence and arguments for and against, or if I just believe it because it strikes my fancy it matters not. Its not what I believe that matters, its what I can prove or disprove and shouting down the opposition with offensive and insulting words does nobody any good.

Textbooks most certainly do mention the coronal heating problem. If you do believe in a higher power, it’s also a bit insulting and incongruous to suggest he/she/it would just be randomly inconsistent in his/her/its creations. So you are now re-writing the Bible? The sentence you quote is the first passage of the Bible. I don’t write as a Christian (not at least one of the paid-up variety, interested as I am in Buddhism but also the universal message in all religions) but I’m afraid simply claiming something as being true doesn’t make it so.
Where is your evidence for that statement? I could claim I am the reincarnation of Nicola Tesla but that doesn’t make it so. Then again, some might choose of their own volition to believe such a spurious claim. In that sense, it becomes ‘real’ to them. It is still delusion of course though.

Most if not all naturally occurring satellites are well in excess of 13,000 years old . Its a big wide universe and if you subscribe to the expanding theory , everything is possible .

Sadly, you are a living exponent of Care in the Community! You would have spent your school days better by learning to spell, instead of smoking strange substances!

When are you guys gonna take the ignorance out of your eyes and let your minds actually turn on and work towards reaching its potential, instead of sounding Iike little children when saying things like “I refer you to” or “where’s the proof”. First o all, if you keep referring back to physics books or other peoples theories…,then guess what, thats what you’ll be doing your whole life, repeating what others say, like a parrot. And secondlly, where’s the proof, that’s the great part, if there’s no proof, then its out there for the finding! So instead of asking others, maybe you should ask yourself first, where is the proof?. Oh yeah, just something to keep in mind, if you actually follow up with actuall “facts, proof, and or evidence” of certain highly classified matters that the us government is now having to own up to, then you would know that our so called laws of physics don’t exactly hold up, I’m just saying to keep your mind clear, you could call it “clear matter”. Lol, but fo real. Why do you think humans have such a strong drive fo the stars, origin maybe?idk, where is the proof?!

What I think you are saying, is that although there is zero evidence this thing exists, you are going to keep saying it does.
That’s fine, best of luck to you.

Actually there is evidence of it, in fact the evidence, documents, witnesses, around 30 scientist and government officials who signed a waiver stating that they’ll appear in court to testify if need be, was so overwhelming and solid, that when brought forward in a hearing to address president obama, the judge and or council was silenced, the whole room lit up with cheer, eventually ending hush hush. Ifyou look out your window into your property, you will notice if there was a car there that’s not yours right! Same thing with these scientist, using their telescopes they CAN see this thing, as well as every country or scientist with latest technology (just not allowed to say), and all know it doesn’t belong to each other sooooo, who, what, when, where, and why. Around 26 MILES in diameter!! Yeah! The gov. Knows its there and admitted, quietly of course. And what about Canada? Canadian congress/council came out publicly to Canadians and saying that they know and have known for years now that the us has been working with the tall whites as far back as Roswell. Its no different than if Obama addressed the us with this news.

Where and when did this happen?
If there was something 26 miles in diameter orbiting the Earth, it would be easily seen by folk without telescopes all over the Earth. You are not making a very good case that this thing is real.
Where and when was this announced?
IknowMoreThanYou · May 4, 2014 at 06:34
Author is as clueless as the rest of us but is determined to debunk this with no evidence, while laughing at people who choose to believe in it despite a lack of evidence. Hypocrite!
admin · May 6, 2014 at 08:51
I do not understand why you think you are being laughed at. There is intention to do so in this article. Nor do I understand why you believe pointing out errors and untruths, debunking as you call it, is a bad thing.

There are several logical fallacies with the article (there are over 300 logical fallacies). These are just a few:
(List removed- ADMIN)
Also, IMO, the article is poorly edited. Surely you can do better!
